So, starting a new character. Found "Beast Warrior Hide" online. Nice bonus, pretty much adds bonus for coercion but setback for charm. This is obviously due to its intimidating look (it's made directly from killed beasts like a trophy I assume, less like a leather jacket but more like when Boba fett wears braided wookiee scalps). So because of this, would this make me more conspicuous on public? Would wearing a cloak/jacket/shirt over it when trying to be subtle make a difference?
Standing Out Like A Sore Thumb
I wouldn't have thought so. Otherwise pretty much every time you're rolling Charm you can just say "Oh, my duster's on now so they can't see my armour."
Embrace the fact that you look like you've just walked off the set of Krull.
Edited by Col. OrangeIt says it's the GM's discretion if the bonuses don't work in some situations, or if the wearer suffers drawbacks.
Generally, the kind of folk that someone wearing a animal-hide vest roll with aren't going to care too much. Walking around a grocery store in the Core Worlds might raise a few eyebrows and make you stand out, but probably wouldn't cause any problems unless you're also swinging around a light repeating blaster.

Yes. One side benefit is if you are being chased and leave it behind, no one will remember your face.

This is an "I want my cake and eat it too" question, so as a GM I'd say no because: I would imagine Beast Hides are bulky, and even if you put a pancho over it you'd look all lumpy and bumpy and just kind of silly, losing the Coercion bonus and retaining the Charm penalty.
Cool cool, yeah I guess I could've been able to abuse that lol. Thanks for the input.
On being more conspicuous in public, I'd say yes, absolutely. You'd turn heads on any civilized world, and most un-civilized ones at that
But it's definitely a "look," and that can be nice for the uniqueness of a PC!

Definitely helps the uniqueness, in fact our GM's wife, who plays with us, is actually gonna draw out all of our characters, its gonna be sick, I partially picked it just cause the picture on the post I saw it with looked so BA.
It's always worth noting that it shouldn't always degrade Charm checks; in certain cultures and settings in the rim such a thing could even add to charm checks as it proves that characters experienced temperament. Though most civilised worlds would find you a bit out there.
