So i got a tourney coming this saturday and wanted to know what do u think about this squad:
Corran Horn - R2D2, PTL, FCS, EU
Poe Dameron - BB8, PTL, Autothursters
Bandit Squadron Pilot
Comes at 98 points with some initiative bid.
A little bit afraid of higher ps aces though.
Should i ditch PTL on Horn in favor of VI and upgrade the z to Tala?
Or maybe something else?

You have an awful lot of points on Corran, and the truth is that even with PTL and EU, he's going to be your opponent's primary target, and he's just not that maneuverable. R2-D2 only works on Green Maneuvers, so you're going to find yourself getting hit hard in the initial joust, only to then be stuck choosing between being very predictable or using R2. Heaven help you if you go up against one of the many stressbots that are now so wildly popular.
I don't have all the points in front of me, but is there a way to dump enough points off Corran to boost your 3rd into a Jake A-Wing? Corran with R2-D2 can Joust and double shoot, K-turn to get back into the action, Green Forward and double shoot again. Plus that would give you your three Aces. 
My main concern with this list is your main concern. i.e., What happens if you go up against three PS 9 Aces? My quick answer would be: You're screwed. PTL, EU, ... even BB-8 become far, far less effective if you are moving before your opponents are. I place a high value on VI, even for Jake in this case because if you lose the init bid you can still use him as a blocker, but if you win that's one more ship you have moving after all of his.

How is Corran with the ability to boost + BR (in same turn) NOT maneuverable???
Your list is very similar to the 2nd place list at Worlds this year. It went with an a-wing instead of a z-95 (better choice, imo):
Corran w/ PTL, R2-D2, FCS & Engine = 48
Poe w/ Vet Instincts, R5-P9 & autothrusters = 37
Proto pilot w/ chardaan refit = 15

Use the a-wing as a blocker. Poe deals with twin laser turrets and PS9 aces. Corran is bait. Everyone wants to kill him, so use that to your advantage.

Yeah that's something i might have tried if i had R5P9. Sadly i don't have the epic ships yet

Edited by VarredI really prefer having Vi corran rather than PTL corran. Soontir is still a thing...also if paired with vader they will just out manuver you and possibly killyou in one pass
