Y-Wing question

By TheBlueGuy37, in X-Wing

I have 2 of the regular rebel Y-Wings and I also have 2 copies of the Most Wanted Scum pack. Did they rule that you could use the rebel dials for the scum to field a 4 Y-Wing squad or have they made it to where you have to have the scum dial? I guess also I would only have access to 2 Y-Wings on the rebel side? Just wondering how it worked at a tournament level since Y-Wings have hit super popularity with TLTs.

Dials are interchangeable. You must have the proper base tokens and ship cards though.

From the Tournament Rules:

Multiple Faction Ships
All pilot cards and ship tokens in a player’s squad must belong to the same faction. If a player’s ship has different versions in more than one faction, he or
she may use any version of that ship’s model and dial in his or her squad.
Multiple Ship Example:
Scott is fielding a Scum & Villainy squad consisting of four Z-95 Headhunters and one Firespray.
His Firespray model and dial are from the Imperial Firespray expansion, two of his Z-95 Headhunter models and dials are
from the Rebel Z-95 expansion, and the final two of his Z-95 Headhunter models and dials are from the Scum & Villainy Most
Wanted expansion. However, all of his pilot cards and ship tokens are from the Scum & Villainy faction

Yes and no. You only have access to 2 each of Gold Squadron Pilots and Gray Squadron Pilots, but as they are on different cardboard bases nothing stops you running them all together. You wouldn't be able to run 4 of any one generic without acquiring an extra 2 Rebel Y-wings.

As we are reporting you do not need to use a specific dial.

You do need to use the appropriate pilot cards and base tokens. This is generally restrictive enough that you may still need to purchase multiple copies of a ship from one faction or the other but does leave some room for cross-over.
