Hey, I'm running a two- or three-shot adventure for some friends over winter break, and I'm working on ideas, plot-wise. And where better to get ideas than from the creative people here on this forum.
The basic idea is that the players, whether they're Rebels, fringers, criminals, or Force users, are trapped on a world besieged by the Empire. There's a blockade, so no ships get in or out while the Empire searches for something (possibly a Jedi, not unlike Taris in KotOR, or some higher up in the Alliance) or tries to starve the populace into betraying the local Rebel cells. They're in deep enough trouble on world, from angry crime-lords, the ISB, the Inquisitorious, disgruntled former employees, etc, that getting off the planet is the only option.
-Adventure one would start with a bang with a quick bit of combat (for the new guy to Edge), and hopefully end with a half-way climax like dealing with a locally renowned bounty hunter, etc. I'm not sure what the main plot is here.
-Adventure two is the ship-jacking, and a big showdown in the hangar bay serves as the adventure climax, followed closely by running the blockade.
Motivations aren't that complicated here, and I will establish from character creation that the adventure is about them escaping the world so the players are on board.
-Force users have immediate incentive to escape if I give them a whiff of an Imperial Force user following them.
-Fringers have their debts and old nemeses to escape and honestly, who can turn a profit on a besieged world?
-Any Rebels could be given a something, such as an encrypted datapad, and told that they need to get it off-world to some other Alliance contact by any means necessary, and to travel with fringers for a low profile.
So, any grand ideas from you awesome gamers? How can a ship-jacking be awesome (Escape from Mos Schuuta is a good start)? What would make a good climax to the first session? What planet would you set this on? Other ideas?
Thanks!
