Clone Wars content in future waves?!

Well, Boba Fett was 33 when he first died (like Jesus) and then he came back (like Jesus). His father was exactly himself (like Jesus) and had a virgin birth (like Jesus). He even ascended to heavens (with his jet pack)

Victory class ships were introduced as part of the Empire in one of the earliest EU sourcebooks, the Imperial sourcebook for the d6 RPG from WEG (I used to have a copy of that book. By far, I think it's the best RPG that captures the feel of Star Wars to date.) Looking that up, it was published in 1989. Before anything other than the few odd things like splinter of the mind's eye. The Thrawn trillogy started in 1991.

The first reference to a "Victory-class destroyer" (nearly a km long) was in one of the first ever EU books (between ANH and TESB) - Han Solo's Revenge.

So it's even older than the West End Games RPG.

Arquentis which is a clone wars era ship will very likely be included in wave 3 or 4.

Not gonna happen. There is nothing prequel in the other ffg minis games and it seems the prequels are being distanced from by Disney.

The Y-Wing, Gozanti Cruiser, and Victory Star Destroyer are ALL Prequels and Clone Wars era ships. THE CORE SET CAME WITH A CLONE WARS SHIP. Also Admiral Wulff Yularen, a Clone Wars character.

As for Disney, I was just at Disneyland on Tuesday. Apparently, someone in the Parks division didn't get the memo about distancing themselves from the Prequels because I saw Darth Maul, CGI Yoda, and Star Tours took me to Naboo (still being blockaded by the Trade Federation 70 years later) and the Gungan City. And there were plenty of Prequel items on sale in the Tomorrowland stores.

The only reason Disney is "distancing" themselves from the Prequels right now is that they are about to release a sequel to the original trilogy in three weeks.

Dude, relax.

And Yularen was first seen in A New Hope. Plenty of characters and ships bridge the gap. Hell Luke and Leia bridge the gap. Distancing doesn't mean denying it but it's not really being expanded on and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Whether FFG has chosen or been told to stick to Galactic civil war that is what they are doing.

There are also some characters in X-Wing that are directly taken from the Clone Wars era and only appear in Clone Wars era products. Like Captain Kagi or Moralo Eval. There is no bridge there, particularly with Captain Kagi, since he is a clone, its unlikely that he would be in service during the Civil War (a clone would be 64 by then).

Bytheway, something fun, guess who is 4 years older in this image:

There's also, as I mentioned, a scene in a brand new comic set on Naboo, with N1s in it, set after Jedi. This idea that Disney are shunning the prequels is quite evidently dead in the water. Wishful thinking, I suspect.

Speaking of clones, are accents genetic then? Otherwise, you'd think they'd have Kiminoan accents. Maybe they got Jango to record all their lessons' audio.

Rebels takes place during the very beginning of he civil war and Clones are alive and kicking still. Moralo Eval and other aliens can easily be alive during both periods. Like Chewbacca nothing says they don't turn up eventually ala Hondo Ohnako a previously clone wars only character.

Its Ahsoka. Clones age quicker.

Yes ive read and really enjoyed Shattered Empire. I think you guys are vastly misunderstanding me but anyway I still don't think we see prequel factions, ships etc added to this game.

And I am NOT a prequel hater or shunner or whatever. I saw Phantom Menace in theatres 3 times when I was 19. The novel Dark Disciple is one of the best of the new novels and is 100% prequel.

I'm a fett fan boy and I've read the fett trilogy book which were a good read.

Now if Disney Keeps him alive (making a movie so I hear) then around episode 7 he's in his 60's. I wonder if he'll make an appearance. ..

His movie might be during or before the OT like Hans movie.

I dunno about prequel factions either, but they could certainly include prequel ships in OT era, as in Shattered Empire. Anyone could fly hem really, but I'd pair them up good-good evil-evil, just for stylistic purposes.

There's a Han movie announced? Maybe that's what I was thinking of. Perfect - that can have a Raider in it! Assuming it's not set before Raiders are supposed to have come about.

Raiders were in Lost Stars already. Maybe they will be in Rogue One.

The worst crime of the prequels (yes, even worse than Jar Jar) is completely ruining Darth Vader's respectability as a villain.

Think about it. The single best villain in all of movie history. Torn to shreds. Denied to millennials and all future generations. Gone.

My dad argues Return of the Jedi ruined Darth Vader. He had seen the first two films when they came out, but didn't see Return of the Jedi until the Special Editions came out. While he was impressed by several bits (like the Rancor), he just thought it was like the Devil himself turning good or something.

As for the myriad of mistakes the prequel trilogy made, their handling of Vader's fall to the dark side strikes me as the most egregious. There is like no foundation for that. They should have been laying serious groundwork in from the first film, but Anakin goes from Hero of the Republic and Paragon of Light to slaughtering children in like 15 seconds. Its practically an afterthought, "hey guys, remember at the end Hayden's character is evil, so you know, do something with that." Terrible.

Yeah... I was actually irritated a bit because they almost do something good. They have him conflicted about what is the right approach, and kind of start having him gradually being more involved in one side or the other... and then he just suddenly switches.

No, not given the overall absurdity level of the EU.

Which is absurd itself.

Well, parts of it, like the ridiculous superweapon of the week issue the EU had. However, the better bits are good. While there are bits of the Thrawn Trilogy that I am not keen on (the Noghri and their plot line with Leia, which is tedious, and the ending of the trilogy... which just comes out of nowhere and is a little unsatisfying), I really like how down to earth most of it is. It has roughly 200 (outdated) ships, a single mad Jedi (and this was before they had become supa-mega-ninjas) and a very special bit of technology used in a clever way be seen as a genuine threat to the balance of the galaxy. A single Star Destroyer was a thing to be feared, and 5 meant serious business. Fits much more with the scale of the original films.

Was "special edition" the one with the Noooooooooooo....... and the the swap to Christian Haydensen?

It didnt even have all that in 1997. Only the Jedi Rock, the sarlacc and the celebration in Coruscant, Tatooine and Bespin. Naboo was added later.

Lol, 3 terrible additions just wasn't enough.

No, no... what you dont seem to realise is that Return of the Jedi currently has an incredible compilation of the things people hate about the prequels.

It has Gungans screaming "Weesa Free!"
It has Hayden Christensen
It has Darth Vader screaming Noooooo
It has out of place CGI
It has a MUSICAL NUMBER, not even the prequels had musical numbers.
And it still has ewoks.

Its like if George Lucas saw a list of things people hate about the prequels and said "Im going to get them all in one movie".

I've long suspected I know exactly what happened with the Special Editions. They probably started (at least on a conceptual level) with Empire Strikes Back, which had a lot of early special effects that hadn't aged well and some editing issues with characters jumping from one place to another. And when you watch The Empire Strikes Back special edition , the remastered special effects almost universally benefit the movie.

This is important, and was subtly referenced in A New Hope: Shadows of the Empire had just been finished a short period earlier, and really pushed the idea of a modern Star Wars movie. Shadows of the Empire was not just a book and video game, it was an effort to actually test the entire Lucasfilm development system in anticipation of creating the new Prequel trilogy. After touching up a few visual bloopers, Lucas really needed to test his digital character creation process. And since they already needed to do significant visual enhancement to make the original trilogy look pristine, it was a great opportunity to add in a few new sequences and also add in CGI characters who could share screen space with regular actors.

Then they did A New Hope, and the wheels stated coming off. George was already thinking about CGI aliens and characters for his next movie, and very quickly we see several CGI monsters and spaceships added in, culminating with a virtual Jabba the Hutt superimposed into a deleted scene that never made it into the original theatrical release. The special effects remastering starts with digitally repainting several matte backgrounds and foregrounds that are painfully obvious with modern high definition theater and video equipment. It also involves completely replacing numerous sequences involving stationary models on wire tracks, particularly in the final assault on the Death Star. Again, these more generic additions are largely applauded, especially the stuff remastered specifically because of the limitations of the model work at that time.

Actually Empire is the one with the least amount of fixes. Besides aditions like the Wampa scenes, the new emperor and some weird dialogue changes, the only special effects fixed where in the battle of Hoth and some Bespin backgrounds.

I really just want an original trilogy remastered. Too bad Disney didn't get rights to that, it already would be out, I'm sure.

Debateable. The way the term was used in the book it could easily be a ship used for raiding rather then a Raider class ship unless there was an edited form I missed.

It specifically says "send one of the twenty-gun raiders into the atmosphere to support the TIE fighters" And an Imperial admiral is not gonna refer to their own ships as raiders as in used for raiding.

Exactly raider not Raider. If it was referring to the ship class the first letter should have been capitalized. Also I'm under the impression tha Raiders are supposed to be more focused on anti-fighter weapons then other weapons but given how gun counting works in Star Wars ten if the Raider class has 20 guns it would have 6 anti-fighter guns and 14 Ion canons and turbolasers. (As an example the Falcon has 2 Quad Lasers in every stat source I've seen not 8 Lasers in 2 quad mounts so there is no reason to believe that the Raider's 6 Dual Heavy Laser cannons would be counted as 12 guns.

And it is possible that the raider was a typo meant to be Raider but nothing has confirmed that AFAIK. I would like the Raider to be made canon I'm not certain that Lost Stars did so though.
