You can use the shield projector to protect Biggs. Biggs ability has been clarified (in the FAQ or the huge ship rules, somewhere) to only protect small and large ships, not huges.

This one of my favorite combo in epic. Bright hope, shield projector, and the gas supplies. When you shield Biggs, you can do it twice in the first round and twice in the second. By the 3rd round whatever Biggs was protecting should be in very good position to do alot of damage. Transport will be hurting, I normally bring crewbacca to help with this. Biggs will most likely be dead by the end or soon into round 3. Which will mean you can still project on the rounds you reinforce, just make sure whatever you project against can only shoot you're front. If all else is failing for the transport at least it can run over ships after the joust as well.
