Tournament Checklist
Supplies:
If you know what list you're flying, only bring those ships. Bring extra tokens, you'll drop a focus here and leave a stress there. Try to find like a shoebox lid or equivalent to move your stuff around between tables, just easier then bringing a whole tacklebox full of extra ships, upgrade cards, bases etc.
Personal:
For the love of your deity of choice shower that morning, apply deodorant, brush your teeth, just be hygienic. I know it sounds childish and I'm not trying to be demeaning, but if you have any experience being in a LGS on Magic the Gathering night you know the air gets real nasty. Make sure you eat breakfast that morning and lunch during/before, and drink lots of water all day, avoid soda and energy drinks. They don't really help you focus and will just make you jittery.
Gameplay:
Nerves will happen, print out a list of actions/abilities that each ship can do/what order you need to do things it. For example: Remember to use Ysanne Isard at the start of the combat phase. Double check your dials when you place them that it's the right direction maneuver.
Other than that just have fun! Remember if you go expecting a crappy day that's what you'll have. All about mindset ![]()
Bring a small tray to keep all your stuff together. Lugging around a big-assed box is a pain.
Make sure you have more dice and counters than you think you'll need. It pleases the Dice Gods.
Mark your templates and range ruler. I used a highlighter to color the edges of mine.
Expect to run into a bunch of really great people. Some of whom will smash you into space debris faster than you thought possible. ![]()
Ninja'd with more content!
Edited by Sanguinary DanThank you both. I have got all the templates, dice, cards, counters and ships in one container, printed out everything I need, made notes and then double checked. All that's left to do is fly!!!
And Shirako, I will make sure I leave plenty of time to shower, brush teeth etc ![]()
Really looking forward to it now, I have no expectations other than having a good time!

This.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!
Good luck and may the force be with you.
This is a lot of good information, as a new player I'm glad someone posted this up. Someone should do a sticky on a list like this on ALL table top forums.
I had an absolute ball, it was a very well run event, the players were all very friendly and it was great playing 5 games of X-wing in one day
I ended up going 2-3 which was way beyond my expectations, even enjoyed the heady heights of the top table after my first game win!
All of your advice was extremely useful and I now can't wait for the next one!!
