Have been having good luck with this list in casual play. But I wonder if it is good enough for competitive play.

Personally I would drop Weapons Guidance on Poe to give Tycho Daredevil instead of VI. It just makes him so darn maneuverable. Also if you're spending your focus on Wep. Guidance then you won't have it for R5P9, so consider at the very least swapping R5P9 for R2D2 so you can get maximum efficiency out of all your upgrades every turn.
Daredevil Tycho is indeed a LOT of fun. However, its not necessarily the most competitive. PS10 Tycho will get those prockets delivered. No ifs or buts.
I agree with Shirako that Weapons Guidance is not the greatest on Poe. I mean its nice when no one is shooting at him, because he doesn't need focus for defense, but in this type of list, why wouldn't people be shooting at him? They will have the toughest time getting a bead on Tycho, so its either Tarn or Poe (neither ideal, but your opponent is going to pick one or the other).
I also agree that R2-D2 is ultimately superior. R5-P9 has more weaknesses: you are essentially locking yourself into focus action 80 - 90% of the match, and that constrains his options a bit. Also, if he gets hit by a ton of stress or blocked, he becomes unable to regenerate. R2-D2 can be predictable since you tend to use the green moves more often, but having boost as an option helps to compensate for that sometimes.
Good points. I'll try putting R2D2 in there and see if it opens up some options for Poe.
Thanks for the thoughtful replies, all.
Drop weapons guidance as stated, keep VI Tycho, bump up R5-P9 to R2D2 and then maybe run the stresshog instead of Tarn?
When I see 27-26 points free in a rebel list I cant think of anything better atm
I do agree that Tarn is very nice especially once IA comes out, in fact most named X wings are begging for it
