Looking for opinions on some Tournament lists.

By McQuirk, in X-Wing Squad Lists

For a 1-day 8-player event with a Scum-heavy local meta, with (AFAIK) no brobot players but lots of people using YV-666s or Firesprays. At least 1 Soontir + Vader player expected, plus a Guri.

Fairly sure that I'll be the only Rebel player there, and I intend to capitalise on that! The only problem is I don't have the cards from the Rebel Transport set (so no Stresshog or R5-P9...)

That leaves me thinking about a "Dash plus Something" list

Dash, LW, EU, Outrider, Mangler, Recon Spec

with

EITHER

a.) Corran, VI, R2D2, EU, FCS ... OR

b.) Ten Numb, VI, Mangler + Bandit ... OR

c.) Keyan Farlander, SoT, Adv. Sensors, E2, Intelligence Agent, HLC, Plasma Torp ... OR

d.) 2 x FCS Blue Squadron

Of those, I think the Keyan build is my least favourite, mainly because he's a huge point sink and if you don't roll eyes he can't ditch the stress. Can't cut the upgrades down enough to fit in the Bandit in that build either, given that Keyan really needs the Int Agent around.

I could always just take the Brobots myself, of course... except I'd rather use Rebels!

Any suggestions?

Your points for Dash at your build are 54. (36+ 2+4+5+4+3) so it does not allow for a Bandit with Ten Numb and only gives you one FCS for the Blues.

I personally like Dash with PTL and a Kyle Katarn crew to take advantage of the Boost and barrel roll combo.

Of Course that is 1 more point than LW, which affects your other builds.

You could take Corran the way he is or exhange the EU fo Autothrusters and a Flechette Torpedo.

The Flechette gives you the advantage of potentially stressing Soontir on a range 3 shot, which kills his actions next turn if he is already stressed.

Last I saw Keyan could remove the stress even with no eyes just how you can spend a focus token even if no eyes are present, or was that changed?

Not changed. You are correct.

However, I think Dash + a lone b-wing is just giving up easy MOV for your opponent. B-wings named, or otherwise, are relatively easy to kill and Dash can't really stop that from happening...

Dash/Corran has the direct fire power and maneuverability that will turn a poorly flown Yv-666 into a pile of rubble. Guri will give you Dash a run for his money, I hope you can fly Corran well.

Agree with CheapCreep. Dash Corran is a classic two ship and Corran is a definite favorite of mine, that said I feel compelled to state that two ship lists are getting rare these days. For just as much firepower (or thereabout) and more health I like the two Blues, but with only 2 points of upgrades between them I like the idea of E2 and intel agent on one of them to try and keep track of aces or FCS on just one to pound the big guys.

How many Z-95's/A-wings do you have? you can just fit three Prototype Pilots with Chardaan Refit (make surprisingly good blockers) or two bandits + Airen Cracken (or a plain Blue Squadron). For the A's I'd switch Lone Wolf to Predator so you still get something when you get tangled up. With Cracken I'd switch Lone Wolf to VI and fit Cracken with Cluster Missiles (which gets you two free actions for one turn!).

You are correct, sir - thanks for spotting that! I would be inclined to drop the recon spec in the latter case to allow both blues to bring something to the party, although I'm not sure that's such a great idea... ?

I have 3 As and 3Zs. I was wondering about something like that but I have limited experience with those ships so I'm not so confident with them as with pancakes, Corran, Bs and Ys. Any piloting tips for if I do choose to use them?

It occurs to me now that another option is to take a gold+tlt for 24 points instead of a blue?

Seems the general consensus is more ships = better, which is pretty much the way I was leaning already. Good to know that I'm thinking on the right lines.

Changing things slightly, anyone got any thoughts on this?
