Do you think we should extend this last round by 1 week? It's Christmas afterall and I'm sure people will be busy with their families. What do you think Biggs?
I'm all for this. I'd rather the games get played than have people settle for 5-5s.

Yavaris, Salvation, and the Bs came at the AFII head on and quickly dispatched it. They were then able to swoop in and destroy Home One.
Bees...bees everywhere. There was no escape. Run. Save yourselves.
Seriously, that was incredible. I don't think I've ever been clobbered that badly.
Not to be the bad guy here, but I'm holding it to the original time frame. The last tournament we had took forever to finish, because we pushed back the time frame repeatedly trying to get the last few games in - and it took forever. Besides, I timed this thing out to be done before Christmas.
It is what it is:
R3 Games Remaining #JJs Juggernaut vs Gowtah Audere1882 vs Maturin Reath28 vs Ceryliae Dab Darklighter vs Rekkon *Green Knight vs Biggs Darklighter *Caribbean Ninja vs Leowulf *Doobleg vs Green Squadron 3 Deadshane vs BronzoJoe # = Possible 1st Place Game * = Identified No Game
I don't have time to write up a report but I'll just drop here that JJ and I played yesterday, and I won 6-4 with a narrow MOV of 36. Game went all the way to turn 6 with only Home One and Foresight left standing.
Here's the log (keep pagedown pressed when it seems to stop, not sure what's happening there but the vlog does go to the end).
Some commentary only on R2. (Throwing out the forfeits)
There was a definite push to the center on Squads. All ships and All Squads both went 0-2 (Though those dice on one of those I'm still wondering about. Especially after the last game.) Squad Heavy went 2-2, and Squad medium was 6-4 with Light squads being the best of the round at 4-2.
Overall we have squadrons fairly mixed, All ships are the worst at 25%, Light at 69%, Medium at 45%, Heavy at 40%, and Max/All Squads at 50% Winning overall.
Ship types, based on numbers in winning and losing fleets: the Best overall was a tie between MC80s and raiders at 66%, Followed by MC30s at 60%, then CR90s at 50%. The AFM2s and the Neb-Bs tied at 42%, while the VSD was 40%, followed by the ISD at 38%. Particular types, the MC80 Command Cruiser was the clear winner at 71%, followed by a 3 way tie for 2nd with VSD2, Raider1, and MC30SF. Clear losers were the CR90B and VSD2 at 0%. With the ISD1 at 16% being responsible for disgracing the Imperials in Round 2, though in round 1, it's numbers were flipped! (ISD2 was actually at 57%)
Overall, the best particular ships are the Neb-B Escorts, and the MC80 Command Cruiser at 64%, Followed by the Raider1 (the only type in use) at 61%. The bad particular ships: VSD2s and CR90Bs at 0%, then MC30 Torpedo Frigates followed by Nebulon-B Support Refits at 33%, then AFM2Bs (only type in use) at 38%. Everything else is within 50-55%. Particularly good overall types: Raider and MC80 at 61%. GSD at 60%. Particularly bad ship types: VSD 30%, MC30 35% AFM2 38%. Everything else was between 46 and 53%.
Admirals, Darth Vader is still at 100% winning. Ackbar went from 2-4*, to 5-2, a rather massive improvement. Ozzel was 2-1, and Garm Bel Ibis is at 50% with 1-1. Of the Admirals with losing records, Screen and Mothma are at 1-2, Motti at 1-3 and Dodonna at 0-1. Tarkin and Rieekan did not play.
Overall, Vader leads at 2-0, Garm is at 3-2, Ackbar at 54% with 7-6*. Most of the rest are at 50% winning: Ozzel (3-3), Screed(3-3), Motti(4-4*), Dodonna(1-1), of those with losing records, we have Mon Mothma at 2-4, General Rieekan and Grand Moff Tarkin at 0-1.
Round 2 the Rebels win 7-6 vs the Imperials at 5-6, Resulting in a slight Imperial lead in games played at Imperials 14-11* to Rebels 13-14*, when Round 2 was over.
*Previous post references the non played one.
I'm starting to look at Round 3, and may provide an as-it-is once I'm done.
Vader can't be 100%, my last game vs. Qark was Ackbar vs. Vader.

Hero, please actually read the post. I've seen you accuse people of not doing this, so please do it yourself. This was at the end of Round 2, or to quote the first line:

I seriously blanked out and thought we were in R2. That's even worse than not reading. My bad.

Yup, congrats !

A great game with Gowtah. I went back and forth on dangerous territory or opening salvo, I went with what I felt would be less risky, but in hindsight I maybe should have tried opening salvo. Congrats Truthiness! Good to see squadrons taking the tournament!
Only 3 rounds then?
Wasn't that the schedule? (I know I wouldn't mind a 4th, but I thought you'd Biggs said 3.)
GG all!
As far as currently in Round 3.
R3 so far, Dodonna 1-0, Ackbar 4-1, Ozzel 1-1, Garm 1-1, Screed 0-1, Motti 0-1, Vader 0-1 (Reset not done then, yet)
Overall: Yes, Hero was correct: Vader falls from his 100%, he's still tied for the top commander, with General Dodonna who does another 100% this round to put him at 67%, both 2-1, where they will stay. Followed by Ackbar, then Garm. (61 and 57%) Ozzel remains at 50% while Screed, Mothma and Motti have all dropped games, and down to 43%, 29% and 44%.
R3 Squadron wise, All Squads are at 1-1, Heavy Squads at 1-1, Medium at 4-2, and Light at 1-3 (All ships haven't played yet, but should in a few minutes)
Overall: Squad Light is dropping a bit down to 59% winning, while Medium Squads have matched All Squads at 50%. Heavy squads are at 52%, and the no squads remain at 25%
Ship wise: In contrast to Round 2, Raiders are getting stomped... Badly! All 6 raiders so far have been on a losing side. Others not doing well are the VSD1 (though that's only 1 so far) ISD2s at 25%, CR90(A)s at 29%, and Glads at 33%. Doing well are the MC30s with an 83% win rate so far, and the MC80s at 75%, followed by the Nebulon-Bs and AFM2s at 67%. Imperials appear to be getting stomped so far.
As of now: Best ship is the MC80 at 65%, followed by the Neb-B at 57% and Glad at 54%. Worst ship is the VSD at 27%. (Though there are a number of VSDs still waiting on R3.) Everything else is between 42% and 48%. (In increments of 2% CR90, AFM2, MC30/Raider, ISD)
Indeed, Rebels are stomping Imperials hard (and a few fellow rebels) in Round 3. The only Imperial victory has come in an Imperial on Imperial match. Rebels: 6-3 vs Imperials 1-4. Overall that brings us to a slight Rebel lead: 19-17 to 15-15
Rekkon vs Dab Darklighter is on Vassal now. Go watch the clash of styles, small fast ships and fighters, vs the might of the Empire's ships in a game of superior positions!
Only 3 rounds then?
Wasn't that the schedule? (I know I wouldn't mind a 4th, but I thought

Yeah, it looks like it's 3. Looks like that's it! Thanks for doing all the stats at the end, good stuff.
I think Ard wanted to do a post-tournament stats collection similar to what he did before the tournament started.
Well done, Truthiness, and thank you Biggs for another great tournament. Can't wait for more Armada in the new year. ![]()
Merry Christmas, everyone! ![]()
Any stats on the scores for the rounds? Highs, lows, spreads, closest match, etc? Interested to see if Ardaedhel and I had the only game with less than 60 total points scored.
Well done everyone! Thank you to Bitharne and Truthiness for showing me a good time and expanding my Armada experience. Congrats Truth!
Ummm...did I just win this thing?
Yup, congrats !

Ha. I honestly, didn't expect to come out a winner after your match, mostly because I didn't expect to win, much less get a 10-0, against an Ackbar fleet. I was pulling for you to win the whole thing. That's not to say I would have hated a JJ win. JJ is probably my favorite person to play on Vassal. I just like to see different winners. I'm sure JJ will be back with a vengeance the next time we do this, at which point I'll be pulling for him =)
Well holy crap, the swarm of angry bees won the day. I have to give major credit to JJ. He gave me a couple consecutive games between Rounds 1 and 2 that significantly changed how I played the list. I can honestly say my win against Green Knight was entirely because of the lessons I learned against JJ's version of the Fireball (that and Yavaris hanging in one more turn with a single HP left).
Thanks to Green Knight, Iskander, and Maturin for great games. You gentlemen we an absolute pleasure to play. Happy Holidays everyone!
Audere1882 and I weren't able to get our schedules to mesh, alas.
And congratulations to Truthiness! Horray for him, and squadrons, and Yavaris, and Bwings!

Yeah all joking aside, those last round 10-0 were quite unexpected, I'm still not familiar with swiss systems tournaments but I guess it happens more often than not.
I went against JJ expecting to play opening salvo and hoping for a 5-5 at the very best, so I too was never shooting for 1st. And I have no doubt he will be back with new tricks and ballsy maneuvers.
Thanks to Biggs for the tournament and everyone for the good games, can't wait for the next one.
