Maturin vs Deadshane in about an hour, barring any unexpected occurrences at my work (which is always a possibility).

Alas, we had to reschedule, Deadshane due to a family emergency and I to pick up my kids from school.

We'll try to schedule again, otherwise we'll take the draw.

JJs Juggernaut vs Zanos will be starting in just over an hour. 8:15 PM CST (GMT-6)

on that note, and major apologies for this but I might be just a few minutes late due to family issues. shouldn't be too long though'

Done.

Fleet Ambush

Vlog: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rd37rvhx5qwxfki/T3%20R2%20vs%20Zanos.vlog?dl=0

A very interesting match. I deployed in the rear of the ambush zone with two of my CR90s and Foresight. Salvation and another CR90 stayed back to provide early activation flexibility. Zanos set his fleet centered to bear down of where my CR90s and Foresight would be moving. I was able to maneuver to limit shots on my ships while starting to whittle down the ISDs shields from long range. One of my CR90s "Lady Luck" (she proved her name) took heavy damage from the GSDs at long range and a Demolisher shot up close. However due to the ISD whiffing and Mon Mothma rerolling a hit/crit to a blank, which burned her last defense tokens, allowed her to survive. However with the ISD in medium range next turn she was doomed.

Then Foresight showed up. With a barely in arc side shot as well as a front shot, he blew Demolisher into bits. Then he moved into range of the ISD, which had no shields on the front and sides, as well as two damage. Foresight activated first at the top of the next round and did just enough damage to finish off the ISD with a ram. This saved Lady Luck and signaled the end of the game. The remaining GSD, had no shields and some damage and was in several arcs the next round. My opponent and I decide to call it after it was determined the squadron fight was over with both my A-wings being destroyed and Dash running away.

A good game to my opponent, who was very gracious throughout this game, even when his dice failed miserably at some points; okay, most points. I also found out about half way through that Zanos didn't have the map pack, and was thus playing without a map at all!!!! I felt horrible, as I assumed he could see the map since nothing was mentioned. However, I don't think this played any part in affecting the game itself, but I guess I will definitely check with my opponent next game! We'll have to play again sometime Zanos!

As a spectator, it was pretty clear from outset that poor Zanos was at a huge disadvantage from the start. JJ has an absolutely brutal fleet on his hands. I'm not sure how to even begin attacking it. Rhymerball?

honestly I REALLY wanted to play against JJ, I felt like our fleets would provide an epic battle that would be very balanced as no side would have a real clear advantage in anyway

It's not he's fleet that's dangerous (well, that too), but the man running it.

More detailed summary of Dab Darklighter and Reath28 Round 2 Game

Precision Strike was chosen as the Objective. With Dab electing to go first.

Setup:

Turn 1:

Basic Manoeuvring. Nothing worth mentioning in my opinion.

Turn 2:

Squadron interaction resulted in the loss of one Tie Advanced from Reath28 and one A Wing from Dab. Excellent flying from Dab allowed Foresight Scout Frigate to slip through the Victory Star Destroyer Blockade. Han commenced his harassment runs on the Imperial Force.

Turn 3:

Heavy losses for Dab during this round with the Imperial Blockade successfully trapping both Bold Decision (CR90 Corvette B) and The Long Goodbye (MC30 Torpedo Frigate). In the process one of Reath28's Victory I's suffered serious damage and survived the turn on one health. Squadron losses for the round amounted to one Tie Advanced, one YT-2400 and one A Wing.

Turn 4:

This turn kicked off with the Rebel fightback with the destruction of the damaged Victory Destroyer. Imperial bombers then commenced the attack run on Jaina's Light (CR90A Corvette) doing some heavy damage to the ships outer shielding. The fighter battle continued with the destruction of two A Wings and one Tie Advanced. Notable mentions to Soontir Fel who bravely ran to the space station to repair and to the Han and Chewbacca team who continued to smash through the hoard of Imperial fighters.

Turn 5:

Saw the Falcon and Soontir engaged in a battle for dominance of the Space Station. Jaina's Light survived the bomber attack run and boosted home on one health. The only loss for the round was one A wing.

Overall a very close game and well played by my opponent Dab. I had a great time and things ran very smoothly with the game completed in around two hours.

Hey Mr. Green Squad, I PMed you about not being able to do Friday, and instead sat even/ sunday any time. Posting here if you missed it.

Guess nothing for Friday then. Any games today?

Maturin and I will try for tomorrow night. Our schedules are really out of whack though.

Truthiness vs. Green Knight resulted in 400-76 in favor of Truthiness. I took first player and picked Fleet Ambush. 10-0 with a 324 MoV.

Green and I both opted for high risk strategies. The difference was my B-Wings got very angry at the right time. The game was really decided by a single Yavaris command in turn 2, which took out a Raider and crippled the ISD. The ISD retaliated by taking out Yavaris, but Salvation knocked out the ISD shortly there after. Salvation barely survived an exchange with Demolisher, but managed to limp off to the station and live on. Independence slapped aside the remaining Raider before Demolisher managed to box Independence in. Green got Independence down to 3 hit points, but Independence managed to rally the B-Wings again to finish off the Demolisher. The B-Wings were very very angry in this game.

Onca Vs Green Squadron:

Onca 1st, with the objective: Contested outpost.

Winner Onca (8-2).

Onca points: 420

Green Squadron points: 288

-------------------------------

I forgot to start the log file :( No replay. I do have the save, but I dont think that can be used.

---------------------------

Quite an interesting game. Green squad had a formidable group of squadrons, especially since I had to get into close range to contest that outpost. But I think denying him the repair ability of the station was really crucial.

Started off with a few volleys, and I managed to get Dash and my 2 YT-2400s to lock down some of GS' A wings and B wings for a couple of turns. Dash and one YT managed to get GS' own YT-2400 down on the first turn. Eventually I lost my squads, but dash held out until the penultimate turn.

My MC30s managed to flank both sides, while my MC80 brought her broadside up to the front of GS' AFII and MC80. The left flanking MC30 was able to pressure the AF quite a bit, while the right flanking MC30 managed to rush the MC80 along its front arc, avoiding those horrible sides. After getting close, the 30 rammed and blocked the 80 from moving. 3 rams happened between the 2 ships, with APTs and my own MC80 helping out, I was able to take GS' flagship down in around turn 4. Subsequently, GS' AFII and Keyan farlander managed to dispatch my own flagship. Following that, the brave MC30 that double rammed managed to limp away with 1 hull left and a few B wings chasing.

The remaining MC30 went right up to the AF and dealt it the final blow, tabling him.

I had played this fleet before, and had a plan. But then you went and picked Ambush...I knew I had to go all in, just to try it.

I made a horrible mistake during deployment. I should have focused Demolisher on Yavaris. Then it would have died horribly before double-tapping the Bees a single time, instead of surviving with 1 hull. Let's just say that decision came back to haunt me...

The rest went pretty well - my awesome ISD JUMPED the shark (the Bees), which made the whole game totally worth it. At speed 3 it flew past them, and would have fleet then sucking ion trails had it not died by Salvation thereafter.

Demolisher did fine. Except for fumbling my raider's command, Salvation would have been dead. Demolisher then parked perfectly in the MC80s front arc (no side arc, no movement possible). But it was too little, too late.

Immensely entertaining and brutal game. I made a mistake and paid in blood, but it was actually one of the most entertaining games to date!
