I'm trying to install vassal armada but am completely out of my depth. Is there a guide on how to do it?
1. Download Java and install it
2. DL Vassal and install it: http://www.vassalengine.org/download.php
3. Download the latest Armada module: http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:Star_Wars:_Armada
4. Run Vassal
5. Select Add module from the File menu, locate the Armada module and pick it
6. In the vassal window it should now say Star Wars Armada version 2.1.3
7. Double-click the module to run it
Very easy.
No previous vassal experience necessary to sign up, but it helps.
What are the Rules?
400 pt builds. Post your builds publicly before the first round pairing are announced. You can keep your objectives if you want. Do NOT change your objectives from one game to another, someone will figure it out if you do, and you'll be disqualified. Wave 2 is legal. Non-FFG custom ships are not.
Each tournament round will be 1 week long. If all games finish prior to that round being over, we will advance to the next round and extend the time of that round by the amount left on the clock from the previous round.
What should my signup post look like?
I'm signing up for the tournament!
My local time is GMT -5 (East Coast, USA)
I'm usually available to play on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and all day Sunday (my local time)
**List Here**
You can edit your list until the first round of pairings is up. After that, your list is locked and editing it is grounds for disqualification.
Anything else?
I'll try to pair everyone with someone who matches their general time zone and play time for the first round - after that you're stuck with whoever you get matched up with. Cryodex is the tournament software and whatever it does for random pairing is what will be. Sorry. If I can play 5 Australians over the course of 2 tournaments, you can too!
We'll likely be playing 3 rounds unless we get a LOT of signups.
There hasn't been any issues with games needing a TO to rule on things before, don't let this tournament be the one it starts. Figure out any issues that arise in the game among yourselves.
