Does this work with Dutch?

By Beard, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Trying out new things, and I found a combo that I havnt seen anyone use before. Maybe cause it doesn't work and I'm reading wrong lol, so here it is. Dutch Vander, R5-K6, TWT. Tl as action, give out a tl. Shoot 1st shot, use tl to modify, reaquire tl (assuming r5's roll is a success), give out 2nd tl. Take a second shot, use tl again, reaquire, give out 3rd tl...repeat again if you have the title.

My question is this, the wording of r5 is you cannot spend this tl during this attack. Tlt is worded perform this attack twice. So, are the two attacks the same attack, or separate attacks? **** wording issues, but is Dutch a tl spammer, or am I reading this wrong?

The FAQ states that the TLT counts as two seperate attacks against the same target so it would be perfectly legal to dish out additional Target Locks with Dutch, although your combo relies on rolling a lot of evades!

*******,...awsome! (Im one of those lucky bastards who are extremely lucky with their rolls, and I intend to abuse the **** out of this lol!)

Good luck with that! The reason you don't see any talk about it is because most people generally consider R5-K6 a piece of crap. So while your combo is perfectly legal, as mentioned, you fail the droid's roll even once and then the TL is gone and you have to wait until the activation phase next turn to try for another target lock. Might not sound terrible, but once it fails you a couple times in one match, you'll probably start wishing you had a more reliable droid...

I have no intention to use it in matches, just casual play with friends. And I agree that it isn't a reliable resource, but I have exceptional luck with rolling dice in games (pisses my friends off to the point where they make me swap my dice with theirs cause they thought mine where loaded lol) So sure, it'll fail me a few times but I'll still get some extra tls out of it to make it worth it for me to use in a casual game. Besides, it's a rebel list. Only gonna be 3 other ships flying with Dutch at max (I won't be flying t95s with this) And I wouldn't use a tl every shot with the other ships (reread the part about me having mad dice rolling luck) So I agree, not reliable. But I don't need it to be, I just wanna show my friends what it can do a few times and laugh about it before doing something else lol

To be fair, in my first full game ever, I stuck K6 and Proton torps on Wedge and left a TL on my buddie's Fel for 5+ shots at his squint. But as FickleGreenDice will always say.
