at your flgs with a demo station

AA Poe dameron.

Really want more info on how to get one of these at our store.

These were made available to us through our distributors. Really surprised by the pack of AA Poe damerons included with the instructions.

Huh. Google seems to be failing me, is it actually different art, or is it like the Guri card from PAX(I think?) last year that was just an extension of the art on the existing card?

My lgs set up theirs yesterday, and already has one Magic player tempted.

Did not know about the alternate art, though. I didn't look too deeply at what was on the table. Doesn't bother me. Let the store use it on those actually demoing it.

Oooo, movie still. Before they announced it was going to be 3P0 I figured for sure that the SC prize, or something coming up this season, was going to be Poe, because how could it not be? I need to find out if my FLGS is getting any...

FFG should have posted this on the main site. My store knew nothing about until yesterday. Now they don't know if they will be able to get it or not. This would really help with demoing games.

Agreed. Heard nothing until yesterday on Nova Squadron Facebook group.

Has anyone found out more about this or how to get it?

My local had it set up as of last week. I understand they ordered it from their distributor. I also assume it can be ordered directly from FFG, but that's just a guess.

UGH. Now I have to see if my FLGS actually ordered these or not. I hate FFG sometimes. Their silence about things like this can be really, really annoying. Poe is one of my favorite pilots....

To be fair, why would FFG talk to their customers about this. This is purely for the retailers, to try to drum up some more business and promote X-wing. Yes, a promo is involved. But, it hardly something to get up in arms about. I am perfectly fine with not getting one if it means new players come in. In fact, the first night my store had it up, they snagged the interest of a Magic player.

Ours and a Halifax stores arrived last Thursday. Local store ordered it before I even knew about it.

Except my store won't order it if there is no customer support. The employees don't run these events. So in order for them to normally get them, we have to ask for them. I would have asked a long time ago if I had known. Sometimes they get them anyway, but I could have been sure if I had been aware that we might want to have them over the normal league stuff.

Once again, the purpose of these promos is NOT for leagues or regular players. They are there to give something to people who demo the game. Give a little something to get more players interested in the game. Thus, more sales. There is no reason for them to advertise this demo table (which is pretty cool, btw) to the average customer.

Aside from the fact that it contains a promo that many regular players will likely want...especially those of us that like Poe and collecting the AA cards....

Just because it is something regulars want, doesn't mean they made them for that purpose. There is nothing wrong with wanting them. Just realize what their purpose is.

One reason it should have been advised was so normal players could let their store know. I run all the tournaments and most the demos for my store. I let them know when FFG has new promos or kits. By me doing that it takes pressure off the store. Games stores have a lot to try to keep up with. I'm sure I'm not the only person that helps stores out like this.

THG just got a demo kit. It did indeed come with AA Poe Dameron cards. If you've seen the trailers then you've probably seen the screen cap they used. Looks very good, Poe reminds me a lot of Wedge Antilles. Same dark hair, square face... dreamy X-Wing Ace eyes...

... Anyways. We are really excited about it because they actually send you a cardboard demo stand, which is 2x2 with a nice starfield pattern on it. Perfect for the 32p Scrambles we do on club night. I plan on going down there today and running a few games. Though truth be told, it hardly takes any effort at all. Give them an X-Wing and a handful of dice, play a Tie, go first. By the time their turn comes around they not only understand 90% of the game but they are eyeing up a core set.
