Seriously, what purpose does this serve in a dogfight to park your TIEs?
What's the advantage of docking TIEs on a Gozanti?
Protect them during the early elements of engagement?
Wait until you're in a position to drop the TIEs right behind the enemy fighters?
Because it's cool?
Do we need 2 threads on the first page asking the exact same question?
There's 4 pages of conversation you can immerse yourself in.
Your opponent becomes more intimidated by the awesomeness of your ship, thereby leading him/her to miscalculate his moves or make wrong decisions. YEAH.

This is a thing that can actually happen.
Imagine...the following..,
I move ahead full, deploy 2 ties, boost with chiranaeu, deploy two more ties.... If deploying is like with the hounds tooth, I can slingshot ties deep across the map....
Correct me on this but doesn't it also allow you to bring more than 8/12 small ships in a game of epic? so You can have a massive 12-16 epic TIE swarm?

Wouldn't have thought so, since the docked TIEs aren't costed into the Gozanti like the Nashtah Pup is into the Hound's Tooth. The docked TIEs come from your existing quota.
Also we don“t know details, maybe they get an advantage when docked.
They likely cannot be targeted and damaged by attacks... though I imagine it is possible that one of the Gozanti critical hit cards will be to damage or discard a docked ship.
docked ships don't actually "exist"
they're not on the table, they can't be targeted (they are not assigned dials in the Planning phase, they cannot attack, be attacked, perform actions, be assigned tokens, be target locked, etc.)
the advantages should be readily apparent
The Gozanti is going to be required for formal epic play since it is the only ship wearing a TIE...
ahem, I said "since it is the only ship WEARING A TIE"
<tap><tap><tap>Is this thing on?
A docked ship can't perform actions, but do their abilites still apply?
could a docked Howlrunner give rerolls to nearby ship? >: D

by that logic, it can only dock FOs
Epic is a black tie event

Ohh thats NICE!
And suddenly somebody finds itself in range 1 of a quadruple of Ties that actually can attack.
Rebels has gotten this ship all wrong. First they mix TIEs will docked, then they let the docked ships get blowed up. Hey, script writers, you really need to pay attention to the rules! Although I do love the way ACT Vader was portrayed, pretty accurate.
I'd like to see a reinforcements scenario. The 4 TIES equal reinforcements that enter the battle from the Gozanti's position. Rebs and Scum enter from the table edge ... a much less strategic position.
I've only just noticed that in the article it mentions that a subsequent article will cover docking and deplying your fighters. I'm now wondering what the benefits will be of docking your fighters mid-battle.
With regards to the starting docked and deplying afterwards though, one thing I find of note is that that the huge ship activations (and therefore fighter deployments) will happen after all smaller ships have already activated. The obvious benefit of this is that not even VI Vader can target lock or arc dodge one of these fighters, presumably until they've had a chance to fire one shot at least. Hell, assuming the deployment rules are similar enough to those for the Nashtah Pup, you could even have your 4 fighters performing actions they don't normally get to do against higher PS targets. (4 bombers deploying, locking, and alpha striking a PS9 target on the turn they deploy? Sounds cool to me!
)
One hull left on that fighter? Dock it and save those points!
