Imperial Light Cruiser Stats

By GM Hooly, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hi All,
Has anyone done stats, or are there official stats, for the Imperial Light Cruiser from Rebels?

I'm sorry citizen, that information is classified.

As far as I know there haven't been any yet but hopefully soon. The Empire could use another sil 5 (guessing on the size) vessels where they are usually known as being Imp ships even if the rebels use some and even when the all but inevitable IMO inclusion of the Raider more wouldn't hurt. Of course I also feel the Empire needs some sil 6 vessels which aren't as well known, or more well known as being rebel craft as they are Imperial. And the Rebels need some Sil 7s which are known as being common rebel craft that aren't outdated.

It seems to be very similar to the Arquitens / Jedi Light Cruiser from the Clone Wars series. Has that made it into one of the FFG sourcebooks already?

I dont believe so.

Most of the Imperial V-Configured (Classic Star Destroyer Wedge profile) ships seems to be full on Star Destroyers.

The Vigil would be the closest, but has a different engine layout, and is smaller according to Wookieepedia. (external engine pods like the consular class)

the others are:

Vindicators

Interdictors

Imperial I

Praetor II

Victory

Certainly in the books I have.

It is without a doubt the Arquitens class.

To me it looks like a cross between the Consular-Class ship for the start of Episode I, an Acclamator Class from the end of Episode II, and the old Customs Frigate from West End Games (see below).

Determining the size is the largest hangup. There's no official length, so silhouette is kind of up in the air (although I'd guess 6). Other than that, seems like a pretty straightforward ship.

I would guess Sil 5 myself. It is definitely longer then the Consular but I don't think it is twice as long as the Consular and there are Sil 5 ships more then twice as long as the Consular. The Vigils are 255 meters long and Lancers are 250 meters long and both are still Sil 5 while the Consulars are 115 meters long.

Fair enough. If that's the case, I'd say silhouette 5. Compare it to two ships in its rough size class: the Valor and the Lancer. Seeing as it's older compared to them, I'd lower armor to 4 and hull and system to 50/32. Speed 2, -1 handling, 2/1/1/1 defenses, long-range sensors. Class 1 or 2 hyperdrive (maybe a 12 or 15 backup). 2 port/2 starboard retractable twin light turbolasers, 2 dorsal/2 ventral quad laser cannons, 2 forward concusison missile launchers. At least 2 pilots and probably 8 gunners, probably 1-4 engineers, and, say, two squads of troopers. I'd price it at around 2.75 million/rarity 5 or 6, because of its age. Probably restricted, but if some were sold off to private groups or corporations, you could justify it as a light escort, and make it unrestricted.

EDIT: Make those 2 dorsal/2 ventral quad laser cannon turrets .

Yup. Looks like the same ship to me:

Really trying to figure out the guy who posts the Arquitens link and immediately says it's not that. Thank you for posting a better pic lol.

The only difference is that I went to the WookieePedia page in question, pulled up their list of images that were linked to the article, and then found one that looked almost identical to the original picture, just with some additional paintwork on the model. Then I posted a link direct to that picture.

Glad you liked it! ;)

That just makes his post all the stranger though! xD

Both the Arquitens Light Crusier and the Gozanti Cruiser have played rather prominent roles in the Star Wars Rebels TV show. So I'd definitely like to seem them stat'd up. Odd though, the Gozanti has an official write up, but doesn't carry fighters normally. It mentions that it can carry 1-2 TIE's if the cargo bay is retrofitted, but doesn't account for what we've seen in Rebels "undercarriage" option.

Gozanti Cruiser

The Gozanti we have stats to is based on older Legends material. Although carrying fighters and things can be handwaved, the Imperial Gozanti also has a much lighter armament.

Apparently according to the Official Fact File the Arquitens uses the same engine as the Consular-class. Some one should be able to estimate it's size from that.

Finarin i think it's too heavily armed, from what i remember in rebels there are no conceussion missiles, and no twin turbolasers, only the 4 turrets are shown firing (but they can easily have medium turbolasers i guess). It might have some concussuon missiles but not on all sides (is there an imperial capital shipo with such a thing? even star destroyers don't seem to have any wepons at the stern)

Personally i see them as an improvement of the consulars so i'd give them the same stats or maybe even the same stats of the corellian corvette. Certainly the same number of HP.

I went from what I could find on the Arquitens Class Cruiser (which has been identified as being the same ship).

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Arquitens-class_light_cruiser/Legends

One of the other entries did note a reduction in fire power in the Imperial version, but that just seemed unlikely to me.

I've been considering reducing the turbolasers to light to reflect its smaller size. I also took away a few hard points from the Consular class since I beefed up the shields and made the ship tougher. The Empire generally seems less inclined toward customization to me as well :) .
