Silence broken! New post at last.

By EbongHawk, in X-Wing

The 3 on the bottom row are Titles for the Gozanti. 6-7 and 8-9 on your list are very exciting...to paraphrase the article, there is one unspoiled upgrade card (that you get two of) that can be used in Standard play on small or large based ships.

I'm assuming one of those is a new Torpedo or Missile!

K I should probably read the article more closely before I do this type of speculation lol.

It doesn't say it directly, but claims 21 out of the 26 cards are Huge Ship Only. If you look at the 3 EPT's (markmanship, expose, expert handling) then Agent Kallus, everything revealed is either Huge Ship or Gozanti only. Since it's referring to 26 physical cards, one of the unrevealed pairs has to be usable by standard ships. Crew and now Ordnance are the only cross over for upgrades, so I'm assuming it would have to be one of those.

I'm betting on ordnance, since it jives with the hype.

Wait, I still think one of us must be missing something. If 21 of the 26 cards are ONLY equippable on huge ships, then the 2 sets of unspoiled cards which come in multiples HAVE to both be huge ship only, right?

21 Huge ship only+ Expert Handling + Marksmanship + Expose + Agent Kallus = 25 . There is only room for one more non huge ship specific upgrade, so it will not come in multiples. Therefore, one of the last three cards is not a title.

Actually, yeah..good point. I'm not thinking of this the right way.

Of its twenty-six upgrades, twenty-one are for use only with huge-base ships, and sixteen of those can be used with any huge ship, not just the Gozanti. These include two new Huge ship only crew, the Ordnance Experts team, a cargo upgrade, and three new Huge ship only modifications that simultaneously present you with potent abilities and important choices about how best to outfit your ships.

On second look, I think they're counting Kallus in that "for use only with huge-based ships". I'm pretty sure they are titles, since they're grouped together and you can see the Unique indicators.

I think it's an error in the article. You can't fulfull everything in the statement. If they're not counting Kallus as Huge Ship only crew, then one of the unspoiled 4 in the top row are a pair of crew cards. Then that throws off the count.

It's possible there was an error, but I'm gonna stick with what the article states for the time being and believe that one of the last 3 cards is for standard. Upgrades can easily be unique as well, and the 2nd from last card seems to feature tie fighters, although the Gozanti portion of the picture could just be covered up. But I'm gonna say one of the last 3 cards is usable in standard (although clearly not the very last).

Well this answers the most often asked question...

So no bringing Defenders, Phantoms or Punishers along for a ride.

Sadly not TIE Adv, either. :(

But probably TIE F/O Fighter? Since it contains all of "TIE Fighter" in the name?

With all the necessary goodies coming I can now make a really really competitive 2 transport list

Can't wait

only epic stuff? boo

extra munitions whyyyyyy?

GLORIOUSE FFG!!!

... WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG?!

:D

21 Huge ship only+ Expert Handling + Marksmanship + Expose + Agent Kallus = 25 . There is only room for one more non huge ship specific upgrade, so it will not come in multiples. Therefore, one of the last three cards is not a title.

Hang on, the Gozanti is going to come with Expert Handling, Marksmanship, and Expose? For real?

I've already got more copies of those cards than I'll ever use.

Why would you think no TIE Advanced? It's on the list...

Ya. Zoom in close. The first 3 cards in the fan. Then pull up images of the cards and compare. Definitely them.

My only guess is action based EPTs synergize really well with one of the unspoiled TIE pilots.

Expert Handling I like much more these days, what with all the ATC TIE Advanceds.

Depending on what TIEs come with the Gozanti, I'm curious about Expose, why push that one?

Well, you can deploy the TIEs straight into someones rear where they might use their actions a bit more? Or something? Does anyone fly Mauler with Expose?

Expose would need some insanely good synergy to be worth its cost. I mean, INSANE.

But, my guess is the synergy will be "fun" and still not enough for anyone to be excited about these EPTs coming in the expansion.

I'm assuming they think that people will be using coordinate more? So a ship uses Expose, gets a free action from coordinate to focus or Target Lock. Even so, I don't think I'd want to use expose.

Because, despite the obvious, "Adv." does not equal "Advanced"...

Curious that only "Advanced" is the only word following TIE to be capitalized.

That makes sense, but it seems like most people buying the Gozanti already have a few of those cards laying around.

I guess and ability that was a free, stressless EI or that let you let other ships use actions from upgrades somehow might be pretty cool. Something like "At the start of the combat phase a friendly ship at range 1 or 2 may perform as a free action any action that you have available" would be cool and might actually make Expose worth it since the ship using expose might have a way to modfiy their roll and you know it probably won't get shot at this round.

Curious that only "Advanced" is the only word following TIE to be capitalized.

Other than Interceptors, you mean. ;)

But yes two are, two aren't.

Curious that only "Advanced" is the only word following TIE to be capitalized.

Your right, that is curious.

I love how the ship looks; the model looks better than it has done in other iterations in my view.

Is there a specific explanation anywhere how the docking clamps will work? I must've missed it.

I don't know enough about epic firing at a to judge the value of unlimited ordinance. Is that useful?

You'd be able to fire up to 3 Proton Torpedoes per turn, with a free mini focus. And if you are firing at Huge ships, they would have 1 or 0 dice to defend with. Huge ships would basically just have to take whatever gets sent their way.

Letting Huge ships use munitions would also be a huge energy savings for them, as any given hardpoint weapon uses between 1 and 2 energy to fire. And if you want to modify a blank result, you need a gunnery team and you need to spend an energy. Keeping in mind that most Epic ships are only generating 1 energy per turn, you can see how the energy savings would start to add up- without eating into damage.

Also! Gunnery Teams seem like they should work on Munitions. So you could still find good use for a spare energy or two. :D

I haven't caught up on the entire thread, but I just had a brain flash I wanted to share:

Spend 1 energy before you reveal your dial, use engine boost to perform a white straight maneuver. Engineering team gives you an extra energy for having performed a straight maneuver.

Next, reveal a 1 straight maneuver on your dial. Engineering team gives you another extra energy for having revealed a straight maneuver on your dial.

And a bunch more stuff that doesn't actually do what I want it to, because the card text on engineering team says "reveal" "on your dial", and not "perform" "maneuver". I caught my mistake before actually posting this, but in case anyone _else_ had the same bright idea that won't work, I'm going to leave this up anyway. Consider my embarrassment a service to the community.

Yeah you just put the post on like the mounting pegs.
