Game night was fun, if subdued last night. I played a few games with my Tie Bombers. First vs. Super Dash and Chewbacca for a throw back to the old meta. I didn't approach right and lost. We replayed the round as no one else was ready and I set it up to launch 3 Homing Missiles at Chewbacca. I....rolled so bad. Even with the TL, I think I threw 12 dice and maybe got 5 hits. After that, I had set myself up in a bad spot for that one round, but figured I could finish off Chewbacca with only a couple Ties. I lost after that round as I just couldn't handle them after that epic bad round. That happens only once in a very long time with Homing Missiles.

Played my list again against a TLT Horton, TLT Dutch, and Nera w/ Torps and Deadeye. It's beaten me a couple of times and I was ready for revenge. Even with a bit of terrible bumping, I managed to kill off Dutch and Horton. It ended with Nera with no shields vs. one Bomber almost dead and another one untouched, but no missiles. Only Bombs. Well, that particular round, we were facing each other for some close range shots and were now passing. He forgot I had bombs and did a green to clear the stress. Not only did he land on both my bombs, but:

He hit the asteroid and rolled a HIT! Nera managed to kill herself during the movement phase.

After that, I threw together a list on the fly. I flew my Punisher for the first time and used Soontir Fel for the first time in about a year and a half. I finally got to use the alt art for him and PTL for the first time. Even with horrible green dice, he managed to pull out the win to finish off some Z-95's. Playing with Soontir is almost like easy mode. Well, I did make sure to kill the TLT K-wing first.

Going camping this weekend with my son and it's expected to be in the 30's at night. Should be interesting.

I had an interesting game night experience this week. We ran an Epic (300 points) Scum vs. Empire battle.

The Scum list had all four IG-88s (with FCS, HLC, and AT) accompanied by 8 Z-wings with DMS!

The Empire had a loaded Raider (with two Quads), Chirpy (with Palp), Vader, and a few Adv. and TIEs.

The Raider handled the Z-95s pretty well, but took a beating from the IG-88s. Vader and Chripy only killed one IG-88, and then a second with the Raiders help. In the end, two IG-88s remained and the Empire was no more...

The Empire is already planning how it will strike back!

So few ships on the Empire side! I'd drop the named guys and get a lot more generic Tie Interceptors.

End of the last full week for me at VMI. Just got this weekend and monday then I'm headed home for thanksgiving furlough - a much needed break full of family, larp, and lots of X-Wing 3 months without playing on a physical table has been brutal.

TGIF! It's a repaint weekend cause my wife and daughters have plans. Time to turn some scum Z-95s into Rebels.

Those Z95's look glorious flying in formation. As do the majestic Imperial pizza slices.

...but shouldn't you be setting up along the long board edge in Epic? Was there a reason you chose the short edges (other than epic camerawork?)

The Raider was all the way to one side, but then placed at an angle to insure that glorious front arc could be used twice each round and to take full advantage of the back arcs. (This pic was taken after the first round.) Also, yes.... this is an epic shot!

My Empire Strikes back list is going to feature Interceptors (Royal Guards) and FOs. Supporting them I think I'm going to throw in a Lambda with Fleet officer and an HLC. I'll be just shy of 300 points to insure my RGs go after the IGs. That should give this list the fire power it needs to punch through the Aggressors.
