Hi I want to try running an imperial list but I am trying to find something that will work well without needing to buy a raider.

So far most of what I see around requires a raider and I don't want to buy one just yet, I own both core sets, a tie adv, slave 1, a tie interceptor and I have imperial aces on its way should be here in a couple days. other expansions I have are in my signature.

Like the idea of running interceptors or something with Vader just not sure what is good, still fairly new to x-wing only been playing for a month or 2 and invested a fair bit into scum, dont mind buying some more stuff for imperial if i need to just not sure i want to buy a raider just yet.

If you're good enough with them, then a very common list is to run two interceptor aces alongside Darth Vader.

Darth Vader with Advanced Tactical Targeting Computer, TIE x1 title, Engine Upgrade.

Soontir Fel with Autothrusters and Push the Limit.

Either Turr Phennir or Carnor Jax with Autothrusters and Push the Limit.

That may or not be the 'best', but it's decent enough. Sprinkle some further upgrades on them and mix and match to your liking. The effective idea is to go after your opponent has gone, use double actions to boost and barrel roll to make sure you are out of their arc, and shoot them when you can.

The advanced Tactical computer i cant find anywhere did you mean advanced targeting computer? if so isn't that only in the raider expansion?

You could also look for specific cards you would like for any build online, which may cheapen the cost. Or merely borrow them.

No but i do like the look of the decimator I may have to buy one. I don't mind the idea of buying ships like decmator or shuttle as I would use those mainly just dont want to buy a raider as I don't know anyone that runs epic games.

How about this:

Bounty Hunter with Gunner

Baron Fel with Push the Limit, Royal Guard, Autothrusters, and Stealth Device

Royal Guard Pilot with Royal Guard, Autothrusters, and Stealth Device

You have an anchor ship and two arc dodgers.

Edit: You can trade Gunner for Mara Jade and add Lone Wolf or something on the Royal Guard. Mara provides some interesting movement control to the list.

I like Chuck's list, and was going to suggest something similar. Bounty hunter likes upgrades that work with both it's arcs (unlike cannons), however I'd strongly prefer ptl on the royal guard, over stealth device. The very first round you use ptl to focus+evade, you've probably equalled the cost benefit of stealth, and that's not considering the flex you get from two actions on a boost+br ship.

It would also allow you to drop to a sabre with at & ptl, saving a point. Then, if you did go with Mara, you'd have enough for a proxy on the bounty hunter. Or a hefty initiative bid for your Fel...

Yeah I'm the same. Decimator is fun and has some decent upgrades that definitely see use.

Great against a lot of lists if you can fly a firespray and don't run into all PS 9 aces
