Canadian Distributor Lists the 27th

By Hastatior, in Star Wars: Armada

So bad news for us Canadian Armada fans, the distributor is listing on its site that the wave 2 items won't be at the distributor until the 27th :(

Maybe I'm an optimist but I was hoping it would be in STORES by then.

I guess this means December before we get to these :(. Too bad for my local stores if the US stores stock them a week earlier cause I'm taking a trip to fill in gaps on my preorder.

Seriously FFG, you found the slowest boat in the world to bring these from China, now you are shipping them to Canada by Bike Courier or something?

do NOT like, was hoping to get in a game or three on Saturday with a couple of R&V packs

Canada has always been behind the US by as much as two weeks. This isn't anything new and it is much less than it was when I started buying FFG games 6 years ago.

Eh.

Honestly, I don't see it being too far behind in comparison. Especially when you consider how long it might take a Pre-Order to be Shipped up from a US Release, assuming that even happens on the 24th as well...

Besides. I deliberately started the latest League on the 6th of December over here in Calgary, so there would be a larger buffer to ensure it :D

(And for me, I don't consider confirmation of any date to be "Bad News"... Its inherently Good to be confirmed.)

Yea. . . Wave 2 is supposed to be at distributors on the 24th in the US but the 26th is Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was over a month ago

Thanksgiving was over a month ago

Wrong country. :P

For us Canadians anyway

So what you are saying that as a company they have not improved their logistics capability at all in 6 years of operation?

Well, that's shoddy.

Anyways, if it hits the distributor on the 27th, it probably won't be in stores till the 3rd, and my pre-order shipment won't arrive until the 7th or 8th? So, yeah, I'll be hopping the border on the 28th to see if I can snag an MC80 in the states, sorry LFGS

No I am most definitely not saying that. Please don't put text in my fingers.

I said it has improved. It used to be guaranteed to be two weeks between a LCG pack in USA and Canada. Now most arrive and are in stores the same day the website says it is in stores now.

Also the dates Lion Rampant lists is much closer to release date than you may think if not the same day.

I'm most curious as to why this is seemingly such a big deal...

I mean, I'm used to driving long Distances. I grew up in a Coal Mining and Dairy Farming Community, which was a good 5 hour drive to the nearest City... But getting in the Car and hopping that sort of drive to get it a couple of days quicker? I just don't understand the Cost-To-Benefit on that.

perhaps I am completely, completely jaded by not having that disposable income.

So, more power to you to be able to do it! I just don't get it, personally.

its less than an hour drive for me. I drive way longer to go to work every day. In point of fact, it takes me LONGER to get to the store in Toronto that I preordered from in Saturday morning traffic than it would take me to get over the border. If it was a 4 hour drive...forget it!

Aha, that makes a little more sense then, given that perspective.

I just hate dealing with the US... As an Ex-Australian Military Man with a Security Clearance, I try to avoid tangling with Border Services :D

I'm an innocent looking skinny nerd guy. Border guards basically wave me through both directions.

Plus, you're over in Ontario... Where there are major border crossings... Unlike over here, where the Border Crossings are a little more... Redneck.

Welp looks like Australia will get Wave 2 in Dec then

Curious, which store do you preorder from?

Welcome to Canada............anything that crosses the border now takes at least a week.......welcome to border checks, etc.

I would watch as stuff I ordered from the US would ship quickly until it hit the border and then just sit there for days.

Curious, which store do you preorder from?

Pre ordered from 401 Games. They have the best prices and a reputation for fast shipping.

I just finished making arrangements for a store in Buffalo to hold the other items I want until the 26th
