Buying Expansions mid-Campaign?

By Abulia, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Just started a campaign from the Core Set and enjoying it. Since the Side Mission and Agenda decks are built how would I integrate any new expansions such as figure blister packs? Can I?

Do you essentially have to wait after the completion of a campaign to get value out of the blister expansions? I understand that the full expansions have their own campaigns.

Thanks!

RAW yes (aside from hired guns and skirmish) but honestly if all players agree then changing out cards in the deck is fine (Not really fair to swap out an agenda that you've already used though).

My general thoughts are if its cool with you and your friends, then go ahead and add the new generic enemies, treasure and crate cards and new statuses. Agenda cards cannot change halfway through though nor can you change heroes halfway through.

Oh and if you are buying the figures of guys already in the campaign (Boba Fett, Rebel Troopers, etc...) feel free to use the plastic piece, but do not change the side missions/agendas.

I tempt my rebels. Buy an expansion for each side and make the deal "If I can add my stuff look at this stuff the rebels can add too!"

Usually works.

Inactive green missions can easily be reselected and reshuffled. Agenda decks that haven't been purchased from can be changed without retconning anything. If its already happened its stuck, but changing a random draw deck doesn't change much at all. I wouldn't ever change imperial class or heroes, but even those could be rebuilt be respending the XP pool.

That's my two cents.

I would say it comes down to a vote. If all the players are happy, then there's no issue. I've often made changes or added stuff by explaining the details to the players and asking for a vote. Especially if its just adding new figures to the open forces.

I added the supply and items cards to the mix, but (ofc) didnt change the Agenda or Side Mission deck.

Since there are restrictions gaining Heavy Troopers, Tusken Raiders (desert tiles must be present) or Hired Guns through a side mission, I added

those to the pool of deployment cards too.
