How and where are you going to start your WFRP3 campaign?

I'm debating on whether or not to just run a sample adventure or two before investing time in a campaign..plus we have no idea what official stuff is coming out yet right?

im running the sample first then ill make the campaign :)

Definitely a sample campaign first in order to introduce the new system to my players.

Then it's straight to the haunted hills of Eastern Stirland.

Probably starter adventure from core box then off to Kreutzhofen (slightly relocated to Reikland) and Death's Dark Shadow (I've wanted to use it for years as a low power, community heroes campaign).

I expect I'll start with the starter adventure, then I will create a campaign based upon the Party Sheet. What PCs are in the group, and what they as a whole have decided to focus of the group is, will play a large part in the sorts of adventures they go on.

yeah that sounds good....ill prob do the same....ik enough about the Warhammer world to feed off them ( the players )

I think that I will start with the demo adventure "A Day Late, A Shilling Short," if we will see it as a pdf for download or with the adventure included in core set.

After that I will run a campain that starts in World Edge Mountains or Grey Mountains about lost Dwarf strongholds. But lately i was also wondering about a campain near the Sea (Sea of Claws or Sea of Chaos) with ships and Druchii (Dark Elves). I think that only after reading all the books from core set I will decide.

The players are all humans working for the military branch of the Empire, staged from Altdorf. If the sample adventure can be tweaked just a little for characters like that, I'm starting up with it.

They may end up being A Warrior Priest, Wizard and Soldier (given sgt rank whatever the card calls it).

m not actual sure what kind a campaign I will run. With WFRP III. First I will try an introduction modul or two, and maybe than trying the first installment of “project Thunderbolt (I suspect it will come in parts). Maybe I will run my old campaign idea that I had for several years (and worked on with infrequency), It’s called “Shards of Chaos” and the idea of it runs back to the WFRP 1.

Chards of Chaos ,-an Epic Campaign.
The central idea revolves around the Old Gods of Law (which were left out in the 2nd edition.

When the world was young, the young races needed guiding, thus the gods we know today made themselves available for the unguided races. They took shape from the races` dreams and imagination. So with these immortal deities at their sides the races of the Old world found their way into the written history, they prospered and built their realms.
But than Chaos entered the World, the very unnatural and corrupting ways of Chaos, created a similar reaction witin the Aethyr realm, forces that would oppose Chaos. Thus the Gods of Law sprang into existence, or maybe they have always existed as natural forces, but now fueled by the invading Chaos.
The Gods of law, did not shape themselves at the imagination of the younger races, thus their mindset remains alien, frightening and inhuman. Many of such Law deities existed at a time, and many perished in the conflict with Chaos. Of the Law gods, only three are known by the Empire, and for a time had a small congregation among the races that now faced a new Enemy. Although the knowledge is fragmented and obscure, the three worked together as a trinity.

The Trinity of Law
F irst there is Alluminas (Body), master of the everlasting and unchanging pure light that blinds his followers. He is stagnation that makes mutation impossible, but also change is immobilized, by his uncompromising ways. A Few vampires still worship him as the perfection of the unchanging dead.

Then there is the wrath of Solkan (sword), who brings retribution against the offending chaos. Unforgiving he strikes at all that opposes the gods of law. Fuelled by Alluminas he burns deamons out of existence. Of the law gods he was the least unpopular, and had many Witch-hunters at his side.

Then there were Arianka (mind) . When Chaos expanded its influence on the world, Arianka took it upon herself to protect Fate, so that Fate itself where not corrupted and shifting the balance. Thus she become known as the Lady of fate among her few followers. Of all the law deities there was, Arianka took the most interest in the struggling races, connected with them trough fate, her alien mind started to reflected those of the races, and she became kind, and involved with them. This were her downfall. In many instances she took upon herself to help the struggling heroes of the world, and thus removing herself from the protection of the Trinity, when she reached down to help.
In one of those events she was caught by an unknown Chaos god, who imprisoned her in a crystal coffin. The legends says that as Arianka was surprised and caught she let a terrible scream go. It was not for herself she screamed but for the fate itself, who now would lose its Guardian. That heart-wreaking scream reached the heart of the deamon god, which crystallized and shattered, but strangely enough did not kill him or let her escape. With the loss of Arianka the law gods ceased to be active, their few temples fell into disrepair and ruin, and their names but lost to history. Their followers vanished, all but a few that are regarded as fanatics or heretics.

The Idea around Shards of Chaos is to introduce the law gods again, and the chards of the Chaos god`s heart the key(s) to finding Arianka and free her from her imprisonment, restore the trinity and the balance. For Chaos have long started to get a hold on the world, the ruinous powers have even begun to corrupt the very essence of fate to serve their wicked plans. If I were to run the campaign Fate points and fortune points (written for 2nd edition), would work differently as chaos are slowly corrupting it. I have also made rules for Dark Fate Points . As the players race around the old world searhing for the shards, they will feel the grip chaos is getting on fate itself. Ofcourse they will not be alone as a secret organization of Key finders will assist them, but also a Witch Hunter ordo is searching for the shards for their own use. I will use Shards of Chaos as a epic campaign, where all players will have a lot of experience, but also have felt the ominous effect of the corruption of Fate. Bad things seems to stack in unnatural ways, restoring this unfairness will be their motivation.
Ps: I heard a lot on Within Temptation when I wrote on this campaign, it makes for epic stuff.
