They discontinued a bunch of them. No explanation given. Likely a licensing issue with Disney. Otherwise it's nothing special, mine was a standard option when I first selected mine.
He's not talking about the avatars, he means the little SW emoticons.
They're done by one of the members, Joe Boss Red Seven, a very...enthusiastic guy. I think he hosts them somewhere so that other people can use them, but it am not sure of the details.
