DA card support, you say, hmm?
New Armada Vassal Module version 2.1.0
DA card support, you say, hmm?
Yes, now that 2.1.7 is out, I'll update the DA expansion to the new standard, plus maybe add some more cards and ships.
Edited by Green KnightSilly question for you: how easy is it to automate the addition of new tokens / cards and what not to a module? If you are interested, I wonder if I can give you any kind of mechanism for a data-dump from KDY for you to integrate into either that module, or another module.

It is certainly possible: the KDY builder could be made to output plain-text, which could be pasted into any existing Armada extension.
I do, however, feel that the gain is very small, for probably a lot of work and headache (those set in when you must mange importing/naming graphics files).
It is much easier to just learn some very basic module construction and just build a new extension.
I'd also be willing to help build extensions that have a certain level of quality - as long as the designer provides me with the necessary image files.
I will say that sometimes I've been able to fix the major LOS bug by undoing, but it doesn't always work.
The new version is terrific! Thanks very much for your hard work Green Knight.
I will say that sometimes I've been able to fix the major LOS bug by undoing, but it doesn't always work.
Note that this is issue is not unique to Vassal Armada. I've seen the same LOS sticking problem in the vassal mods for Xwing, 40K and Epic:Armageddon, so it's not an Armada specific bug.
A few bugs/formatting issues.
- The new damage deck list has no scroll bar, so if you don't have a screen big enough you can't see the bottom of the list
- Similar issue with the main table window, where the buttons at the top go beyond the edge of the play space, meaning you have to do go near fullscreen to see them. A scroll bar would fix both these issues
- This is not a bug, but a quality of life thing. Squadron hotkey to gain health is alt+H, but the ship hotkey to gain health is shift+h. Since the shields use alt to regain as well, I think it might be nice to have that uniformity for ship health.

I'll make a note of this: I play on 2 big screens, so this never occurred to me.
I hope to take a long, hard look at hotkeys at some point. this one will definitely be addressed then.
Edited by Green KnightDiablo Azul's Shipyard "wave 1" has now been updated to module v. 2.1.7 standard.
Get DA's Shipyard extension v. 0.7.0 here!
To do list:
- the ships now have correct (bright green) arc lines, but there are also some grey ones that you'll just have to ignore until I get it fixed*
- squadrons are a bit colorless, so I think I need to add some color**
- the custom upgrade cards have text on them, which is a little hard to read given the pixel count, so could be I'll increase their size slightly to compensate
* Do you like the bright green lines better than the original grey ones? Feel free to give me feedback!
** Volunteers welcome!
Future DA products:
I can easily add more DA stuff, but will do so only upon request from DA.
My Custom Maps pack has been updated.
One map got moved over to the core module, several of the less appealing ones were kicked.
I tried to go for darker maps that are easy on the eyes AND easy to use with range/distance measurements.
I did keep a couple of brighter ones for nostalgic reasons.
I really appreciate your efforts Green Knight. I love the new functionality. Thanks! ![]()
I've posted a few (2 so far) tutorial videos over at the Facebook group. You might want to have a look (but it's pretty basic for now). I plan on making some more soon, that will cover most, if not all, the Vassal Armada functionality.
I've made a very basic extension containing a single map in alternate sizes (I might add more later):
6x4 playing surface
8x4 playing surface (also sports 9 inch wide beyond table edge spaces)
This is for players who want to play around with larger play surfaces.
Note that computers with low RAM may have trouble with larger maps, especially if filled with ships and cards and whatnot.
Setup area: you'll have to use tokens (and CTRL+T) to define appropriate setup areas.
Edited by Green KnightFirst draft of the wave 3 speculation extension is out:

Just wanna say that the newest module is freakin' amazing! Thanks for all your hard work!

Highly speculative versions of the Gozanti/GR-75 added to the extension:

Does anyone else have issued getting the extensions to work. Mine always fails with errors.

Does this include the cards that were revealed? If so, I'm super excited to play with them after I'm off the road.

No... what kinds of errors?

Yes.
And speculative (very rough) mockups of the flotillas.

You have it installed on C: Program Files
maybe there is a permission issue or something?
Maybe try to install Vassal in a different location.
When you add and extension to a module, vassal tries to create a subdirectory at that (where the extensions is saved) location.
Edited by Green KnightJust put mine in and it's working fine.
This issue just cropped up for me, but on 2.1.7 and on 2.1.6 b6, I can no longer drag pieces from the pieces window onto the playing field.
Edit, uninstalled and redownloaded 2.1.7, issue persists, including damage cards.
