Boom lvl50.
Star Wars Battlefront
Ive gone up about 10 levels this weekend and ive not even been playing that much!
Bonus points are awesome. I just wish we'd had em sooner as getting to level 13 for a jet pack was a real grind.
What does explosive shot actually DO? Is this supposed to be higher damage against people or something? Never seemed to make any difference when I used it.
And my favorite weapon so far is the rebels' starting rifle. Ends up getting me the most kills and seems the most well rounded. I think I have bad aim so maybe that's why.
I don't know if your gonna want that since it was nerfed recently.
On ps4 named heroes are fixed to 3rd person and 'fighter squadron' is serioulsy hard in 1st person as you have little situational awareness. I think they could have got around that by making the 'radar' much better in first person, perhaps like the old 'elite' system so it showed relative height of contacts as well as direction by putting the 'dot' on a line that went up or down?
Anyway as it is you've got to be a purist or someone who values immersion over being able to play to fly a tie 1st person! (i still do as im a masochist and sometimes need my 'tie simulator' fix)
But you're right being able to change your challenges was ace, my first lot were really hard like yours with things like 'destroy 25 aircraft with blasters' or something just as silly
If you didn't notice being in cockpit view also makes it so you have to be closer to enemies to see if they are human or ai controlled.
Im finding the imps are at a disadvantage in fighter squadron.
For a start the rebel missile seems better but most importantly the rebels 'shield' ability makes all the difference, if you start taking fire you can flip it and pull a corkscrew or dive to the ground and pick up a repair... i've also survived missile hits im sure by being shielded.
In contrast the 'boost' the imperials get isnt much cop.
I've found being on full speed makes it night on impossible to dogfight anyway and tend to fly at half or three quarter speed for either faction so i can stay on someone tail *and* have a fair bit of firepower.
Because I play this mode differently, no stunt buttons, half the time cockpit view, I have found boost to be very useful in getting away from enemies. If I think they are behind me I will corkscrew my what down and then behind terrain. It usually works esp in 3rd person view.
I hope they bring the Dark Trooper back in SWBF... They need to also have his lightning arc-caster. I miss electrocuting Rebel fools like this.
Level 46 now. Did an epic game yesterday where my team CREAMED walker assault on endor as Imperials. Man I got 32 kills 12 deaths that game. EE3/Pulse cannon/personal shield / Jetpack.
I got up to 42 this weekend. Would have been higher but I just didn't have very much time to play. Sullustian face here I come!
Managed to get 30,000 on one fighter squadron level where I scored well AND got 2 objectives, combined with the double score! It was pretty sweet!
What format you playing on Crabbock?
I've only found one other forum member on PS4 so far.
I'm thinking out of the non pc options i'll find more people on PS4, certainly as its been outselling xboxone 2/1 in the UK so far.
I made it past 30 on bonus weekend. It was a lot of fun. Slow grind towards 40 and finally getting a different Storm Trooper helmet. I don't like the heads. Who would take off their helmet?
Gotten better on Supremacy. I do like Scout for capping....if I'm trying to sneak up the sides. It works well until you are there. After that, though, it's a regular fight. I'm OK with that as even just one guy in their base can make their offense pull back to deal with me. I only wish my team would actually do that when there are people in our base. Sometimes they don't even seem to be paying attention.
Xbox One here!
I heard they are going to make 2 more SW Battlefront games. I'd really like for the next one to have more of a focus on Fighters and space battles. Or better yet be more vehicle-centric. I want to walk UP to a vehicle in a hangar and GET IN it and take off, not pick up a power-up.
Moar co-op modes/games. For at least 4 players.
I want a whole separate game for space battles. Make it just like X-wing vs. Tie Fighter and they have a winner.
More modes would be good, too. It would be nice to play with family or friends that aren't used to the brutality of online play. More co-op options.
More tactical options, clling for aid or sending people somewhere, better ways to coordinate.
Battlefront is currently 40% off on Origin. I picked it up with my Xmas money (finally), and cannot wait to play. Loved the beta, so I can't get to the real game soon enough

Despite those numbers for some reason the Xbox community is much bigger and better. We have PS4 players come into our community to ask us questions because I guess on the websites, especially trueachievements, they are not talking much at all.
I think the game might be dying... Some games have very few people playing them and when you look at twitch theirs a heck of alot more people streaming and watching HALO 5 than there SW BF EA. The later has 3 game platforms.
Got the game today I've played a few hours and I'm already lv14 the cap of 25 shouldn't take me long.
I'm loving the tie fighter and x-wing they turn tighter and let you get behind things alot easier, was either top or 2nd in the games I played I may be OP.
I'm rather annoyed by how impossible the hero ships seem to be. I spent an entire match of the starfightery gametype tailing the Slave I in my A-wing, shooting near constantly. Only took it halfway down. Ridiculous...
And is it just me, or do missiles
have
to lock on? I tried drry-firing them at the Firespray, and watched them go straight through it.

Hero ships do seem way to tough.

The cap is 50. You'll be at it longer than you think.

Well for blasters it's 25 as Hans gun is the best, I don't really care about the in game avatars.
Still mostly playing the dog fights got 10 player kills for the first time today
I had to pass on this. Too much money wanted for what is basically a re-skined version of Counter Strike. If there was a campaign included I might buy it but not the way the game is now.
Kind of surprised by all the positive comments! It looks and sounds like Star Wars, they did a great job there, but the underlying game just didn't seem nearly as awesome. I thought maybe the full PC version would be different but the reviews seem to broadly agree with my initial impression. It's the kind of game I would want to fire up randomly for a Star Wars fix but not the kind I would sink hours and hours into. At full price at least I just can't justify it, sadly.
Having played the heck out of Battlefront 2, it just seems to me that they got the graphics and effects spot on while putting out only half a game. Can't see shelling out 70 bucks when the stuff that most people are asking about (space combat, combining space and ground combat, hard counters to the A-Wing) were in the previous games. If they put out an expansion that includes even a galactic conquest and space centered combat, I might give it a look. In the meantime, I'm going to go launch some proton bombs at a Star Destroyer's bridge.
I've been totally fine with the game. I knew going in that it wouldn't have a story mode or much single player. And I didn't want any of that. I'm glad they didn't just throw in a half-ass'ed story just to keep the single-player fans happy.
I like my story games to be ALL story and very much plot-driven or choice driven (Tomb Raider, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, GTA)
OR, I want to be able to just throw a game on and play to help me relax or take out some frustration and have fun. Like Titanfall or Halo or Battlefront.
Do I want another game for Star Wars like KOTOR? Of course! A next gen KOTOR would be amazing. But I want it for totally diff reasons than Battlefront.
It's fun but shallow I knew that going in I'm 23 after five hours or so I thought there'd be more grind.
Won't hold my attention like fallout four has but I'm having fun in fighter mode.

I have to disagree with this assessment. Yes, it is only multiplayer, but you have a lot of different game modes that makes it interesting. It's not just run around a small map and shoot each other. There are large maps with lots of vehicles. There are hero battles. Even the small map modes make it interesting with different objectives. I love the pod claiming one. I haven't tried the droid chase mode, but it does look fun.

While Han's gun is pretty brutal, it's not the best gun in the game. Honestly, I think the 2 generic ones are the best. The other ones are very specific. Hans gun is great to get that one or two shots off to kill someone fast, but if you miss, you are probably dead. Or multiple enemies will have your gun overheating fast.
