Star Wars Battlefront

I do find it a little too sensitive on ground, In the air I treat that as part of the challenge and use it to add to my natural weaving.

That got me curious. I boosted it to 100% in the air and I'm rocking it. haven't tried that on the ground yet. I think default was 15%.

Ground combat at 100% was hilarious and dizzying.

Fighter Squadron is so far the only multiplayer I've tried since the beta. Quite fun. A bunch of AI controlled TIEs and X-Wings will fly around, not sure they ever kill anyone. They do help keep the game down to a good length, since killing them earns points and they don't dodge as well as human players often do.

Survival is a lot of fun. Seems a bit easy but next time I play I'll try it on hard and see what it's like then.

I've had two AI X-Wings blindside kamikaze me while I was tailing a transport.

Is this the thread to post system and usernames? Who needs friends on PS4: Visceroth

PS4: Razvedchik_

Happy to play with/against any of you guys from the board.

Im just soooo happy i can fly a tie int in 1st person! Sure its much harder but its more fun too!

I understand developers plan for future releases but when it is thrown in your face on day 1 .. Kind of feels like we werent sold a complete package.

You mean like a certain miniatures game about dogfighting in space? Or, by the same company, a miniatures dungeon crawl/skirmish game in space?

:P .

Dagonet .. You're the devil!

Pleased to meet you, you guessed my name. :P .

Yesterday I was playing Walker Assault and twice I was invulnerable. Has anyone had that happen? I even got a message with a clip of what happened and calling me a cheater. :D .

Well, I got to play a bit more. I'm definitely falling behind some of the hard core gamers. I'm only lvl 12 at the moment. No jet pack. I've mostly been playing Blaze mode. I find that whomever has the 5 shot pistol kills me with little effort. I hate it. I'm 2 levels away from it, myself. I tried the jawa shotgun and did bad. I got the T-21 and it's not meant for short range. Glad to see other people don't like it as I thought it was supposed to be good. Maybe on a larger map?

After using the double ammo MG laser, I think it might have less stability when firing than the other one. So, it is balanced a bit.

I haven't really used pistols much at all at this point.

I try playing Supremacy, but there is so much going on, it's hard to really get into it. I find I spawn in some random spot and move towards the enemy. I get killed. I find the line of scrimmage and hang out shooting all game. I guess I'll have to try it more.

I should probably try Walker Assault some time, too.

I've barely played the fighter game as I don't know what I"m doing and I'm already behind everyone so much. I've done it a bit and gotten close to an equal k/d ratio, but still don't know what I'm doing enough.

I still love the game, though. My kids are now playing it, which is awesome. I'm so happy the 16 year old grabbed the 10 year old to play a co-op mission last night. I hated to pull him away for bedtime.

Good stuff. Love the game.

Heychadwick - use the DH17 or if you got it the DL44 for short range maps.

I hate the T-21 but love the T-21B. They are kings of the supremacy and walker assault game modes (apart from maybe Endor.. too much cover). forget them in drop zone and blast. The EE3, DH17 and E-11 do better there.

Played afew more games getting me to level 29 last night, only fighter squadron as i had maybe 45 minutes. 1st in points all but once. Death on Black Wings.

The DH17 and DL44 seem almost OP in the up close areas.

The fighter game is an equalizer though, no extra upgrades, just TIEs and A-Wings and X-Wings.

Perversely, I seem to be doing better in the TIE and X compared to the Interceptor and A

Weird. You are definitely an unusual case there.

Yeah the fighter game is an equalizer, that's why I like it. No-one gets to hide behind unlocks. Not from me.

In my first day being online in Battlefront, I scored 38 kills in Fighter Squadron.

15 Player, 23 NPC.

I'd be happy to take you guys on, PC side. :D CaptainLackwit is the name.

I guess all those years playing X-Wing, TIE Fighter, XvT and X-Wing Alliance have paid off. :P .

The faster ships tend to overshoot and I pick my targets based on health, anything that takes longer than 5 seconds and I turn away to something else.

Sure, you get shot at, especially in a TIE Fighter, but those A-Wings are ridiculous anyway.

Some basic tips, to grind your way up the ladder:

Forget about the power ups, they're either not worth it or you die trying to get them or make the most use of them. Orbital Strikes are nice, but without knowing what's what you're as likely to end up with a card refresh.

Hang back a little, fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Take a few seconds to see what's ahead.

Stick with one generalized weapon, don't switch too often yet. Get a feel for the game and the maps.

Supremacy and Walker Assault provide the mission with an anchor, instead of running around trying to kill everybody. With Walker Assault, when respawning, look around, there's likely some goodies around. AT-ST's or fighters for instance. Use the fighters to get a look of the terrain.

With Supremacy, when you lose a point, run back to the previous one to set up a defense. Don't rush to the frontline until you know the map.

Don't shoot from the hip. Don't use the over the shoulder look.

So what traits have people picked? I earned a trait a couple of levels ago but haven't decided yet.

Bodyguard lets you ignore explosive damage for a bit.

Survivalist lets you heal faster.

Scout keeps you hidden from scanners when sprinting (and later when firing)

Or wait, save the credits, until Sharpshooter (faster cooldowns) or Bounty Hunter (chance to get power-ups) become available?

I'm leaning towards Scout at the moment?

I use scout exclusively.

I've learned not to rush in at things, but got that in the Beta. I tend to outflank. It has worked very well for me.

I've still not really tried Supremacy or Walker Assault. Still like Drop Pod or the shoot 'em up mode.

I just love Bodyguard, people try to kill me with their homing shots but i can just walk at them. Burst weapons are wicked overpowered. My favourite thing to do is hopping into fighters on walker assault and rule the sky, although that works a lot better as rebel in A-Wing phases. Hate it when there are only Snowspeeders that get shot down by Interceptors.

Add me on Origin, I am AdmiralDeathrain. timezone is EU, though.

I didn't see how playing the X-Wing or the TIE Fighter series would help in this game. Besides the glitches or werid game designs mentioned before, cockpit view decresses detection range, rebs have longer detection range, rebs give off false lock-ons more often, although going by the lore the A-Wing has the best ecm as long as we are talking about unmodfided fighters, the scanners don't work in dogfight mode.

The only major problem I have is that all the controls that should be seperate that would be used to control the craft all on one thumb stick like on the real SWBF 3 and 4. With those games though they were on the psp.

Its still a pretty awesome game mode, it has some things better than the other SWBF games, when it comes to the dog fighting mode, it just screwes me over more that I can't manually do a lot of my own manuvers that I could do in old SW games or in real aircraft, I refuse to use the stunt buttion, I do my own stunts thank you very much XD

I am JUST TERRIBLE at this game, but I love it anyway.

I can only squeeze in about an hour a day, is part of it, but I'm the ******* who just goes running off, screaming if I could, straight into enemy fire and dies, often as not without contributing anything. (Sorry, team!)

Every. Single. Time.

It's exactly as effective as it sounds, but I still love it. :D

On the ground, I am good with the T-21B but up close i'm pretty bad,

In a fighter things get very different. Even as Imperial. I do acknowledge the imbalancet hough.

I don't use cockpit mode, I prefer the larger view. I don't notice the detection range though, you can pick humans out quite often beyond detection range through their flight patterns. Especially the outliers.

If I'm in the middle of the furrball I'll target whoever is closest, AI or human.

I target only when I'm reasonably sure I can stay on someones tail for a few seconds. No sense in them getting warned off.

Barrel Rolls and Half Loops I hardly use. Most dodging I do through speed changes and sharp turns.

I target and stick to my target till it's dead or till I am forced to disengage. If i am shooting at an A-wing and an X-wing crosses my path, i take out the X for expedience.

The hitbox bug with the A-wings makes tackling them too dangerous, i can be shooting them for a good minute and someone can just pop me off their tail, so i tend to avoid that.

My dad and I agree. The A-Wing needs serious rebalancing. It may be screen accurate but that is, in a way, a serious problem.

It needs to have weaker blasters and armor, but just as well needs to be faster than the X-Wing and twice as agile. The same could be said for the interceptor- but different. That thing needs higher firepower, but weaker armor, and needs to be *the* most agile thing.

Because nobody in their right mind picks the larger-hitbox X-Wing or TIE Fighter.

Finally, we need our bombers and hyperfighters. Give us Y-Wings and TIE Bombers, then give us B-Wings and TIE Defenders.

Or hell just give us the Y-Wings and TIE Bombers just, come on DICE please.
