Star Wars Battlefront

Yeah, not digging the TL cooldown too much. Instead of it "overheating" they should just make the TL break when the target moves from your center vision. Basically make it harder to maintain if you don't stay on the enemy.

From what I can tell spawning as a wingman doesn't give you a better fighter. Could be wrong.

It gives you more health, and higher damage.

I am getting better. I played a number of rounds in regular game mode and got the hang of the space battles now. I'm not the top of the charts like I used to be most of the time, but once I was 35 kills to 1 death, which was pretty good. I was Rebels and the other team was crap. I'm getting the hang of it. I still seem to have a hard time finding enemy on occasion, but I"m getting better. I still hit space junk often enough. The trenches are certain death for me on the Death Star maps.

I did get the fast shoot rifle contract done. It was just a little annoying to get heavy weapons kills. I like the gun, but I miss the ability to zoom. I haven't really tried the super shot so much.

I got the laser mines and I got my 5 kills with them, but I still need to get the 50 explosive kills. It's just a bit of a grind.

Played Heroes vs. Villains and managed to get 10 Han Solo kills. Someone else started grabbing Han before I could, which was annoying. It's no where near as difficult as getting hero kills on Sabotage.

Already bored. The Death Star infantry maps remind me of BF3 64 player Metro severs with grenades turned on. Nothing but spam. Both new heroes are way OP. Bossk is just ridiculous. He makes pre-nerfed Boba Fett look tame. The fighter combat is fun the first dozen matches or so, and then that gets boring. I thought this might keep my attention til BF1 comes out but nope.

EA seriously needs to stop whatever development is going on with Battlefront 2 and remake X-wing vs Tie Fighter with this engine. The Death Star and the space battles are absolutely gorgeous.

Oh and you can get killed by the Death Stars turbolasers. I was friendly fired by one in my Tie Fighter.

So I tried it...

Meh.

Totally NOT the Trench Run.

Once again EA and DICE miss the point of Rouge Squadron.

However they are starting to understand X-wing a little. This is way better than the trench run.

Still wish we could go inside the capital ships and pilot board and fight inside. You know something that was a little more fleshed out than the Battlefront II space battles. But this set piece battle and station assault is pretty good.

I lost interest in this game a while back but I would Ell Oh Vee Ee LOVE a single player. If we could get something like Dark Forces with this engine and graphics .. WOW!

X-Wing / TIE Fighter also applies. X-Wing games remade with these graphics would be supreme. The ability to create a 4 person squadron with your buddies would be .. well .. possibly the best game ever.

And then have a VR option and I'll just give up on real life!

The best way to get your laser mine kills is in an objective based game like extraction, especially one that is indoors. Place them low to the ground too or place them shoot someone nearby and run away, that usually gets them to chase you and bang you've got them. I found the Han kills the hardest as I'm terrible with heros.

Death Star is much better than Cloud City and has really got me back into flying in SW:BF, are you doing fighters as 1st or 3rd person?

You cannot target lock an enemy ship indefinitely anymore. It has a cool down just like your blasters.

Soft lock [Vehicles]: An overheat mechanic has been added to the softlock system.

Really the best thing to do now is kind of do boom and zoom tactics. Pick a target at a distance fly at them when you get in close go for the target lock and blast them. Then GTFO and repeat. Ties and A-wings do this best due to the boost. I find that if I get into swirling dogfights I can't keep the TL up enough to bring someone down quickly before someone else comes in and blows me to pieces.

I got into Vader's Tie Advanced the last night. That thing is pretty sweet. Unfortunately, I got ganged up by 3 X-wings and they managed to bring me down. I did get four kills in it though.

Tie Bombers/Defenders & B-wings/Y-wings are NPCs

Fighter Squadron & Battle Station: New power-ups have been added for both the Rebel and Imperial sides. Once activated a group of AI vehicles will spawn in next to the player and engage the enemy in dog fighting for a duration of 60 seconds. The vehicles are:

• Y-wings and B-wings for the Rebels

• TIE Bomber and TIE Defender for Imperials

I really hope they become flyable.

My God they have added some gimmicky ass weapons to infantry combat. The **** Secondary shot or whatever the hell it is, is usually a one hit kill. You round a corner then BOOM! Dead. So dumb. The worst is the disruptor burst or whatever is the star card that can cause your weapon to overheat. Its simply the worst. You get the jump on an enemy, he hits this star card and all of a sudden your like &@*#, if you don't hit the reload perfectly you are basically dead. These cards have made infantry combat really frustrating and frankly not that fun.

In the companion app under detailed career stats, they are listed as options. All mine say 0 next to them but I have kills with them all once I snagged the card. So I think thats a hint they may become playable in the future.

Yep....I got the mine kills. I just need more explosive kills. I guess I can use the mines to do it, but was using assault bombs and grenades.

I still haven't gotten the other Han kills. I tried to play the other day and my internet connection was crap and I just couldn't play. I haven't tried again.

I liked Cloud City, actually. The issue I have with Death Star is that it's a bit repetitious. There are only so many game modes and so many maps. It seems like I end up playing the same stuff more often. I REALLY wish there was a way to randomize between ALL expansions. I mean, I bought them all and I want to rotate through them all. Other games can do this, so why not?

Just wanted to say that I just did the battle station from start to end as rebels and we won! Which BTW in my opinion is really hard, especially stage 2.

Anyway the reason I am so excited right now is that I did the trench run from start to end as Luke and blew up the Death Star! God is wish I could have done that in 1st person but I needed to be sure I didn't hit the walls.

Apparently they are going to bring out two more maps for Death Star, I know what you mean about the DLC thing, I was disappointed that they didn't roll extraction into the new ones, its a really popular mode and would defiantly have suited the more outdoor maps on Cloud City.

I've played Battle Station maybe 25 times, just got the 10 win achievement and have only once been picked to do the trench run and I died before I even got into the trench!

I got picked once. I made one spot and then hit a wall. I'm terrible at hitting walls. Is it better to do 3rd person?

I still haven't tried it lately as I just know the n/w signal will be poor.

Yeah, I find it much easier, went from being unable to get more than a couple of kills to completing all the flying achievements and collectibles.

Also does anyone else love and hate the two new guns? I love using them and the new firing mode is cool... but yet everyone spams them and I have lost count how many times I have died from Secondary Fire.

I cannot say yes enough. On open maps 1st is fun to use but 3rd person let's you see walls and the environment around you to help you avoid hitting anything. It is also a amazing thing when dogfighting to be able to keep better track on enemies.

I have a terrible habit of pulling the left trigger when I fire, so secondary fire is really annoying for me. I prefer blaster rifles anyway, but if I have an active heavy blaster challenge I would probably use the TL-50, not sure about the pistol. How are people finding the Escape Artist trait card? I love it!

The Secondary shot is like the noob-tube of Battlefront. It has made me rage quit a few times.

I'll have to try 3rd person flying. Thanks.

I actively dislike the special ability on the new rifle. I would prefer just to have the ability to zoom in. I like that gun as it is, but would love the option to zoom. I've only used the super shot a few times. It takes a bit of practice to get the range accurate for something beyond close range. I did manage to get 2-3 kills with it during a big cluster fight. Overall, though, I do like another tool for something to deal with choke points. The game can suck when there are too many defenders in an area and the offense just can't break through. So, having lots of different options to break that is pretty cool. I still love the Dioxin Gas. I'm the fool that's always using it.

I haven't tried the new pistol as I haven't got my Han kills yet.

What does the Escape Artist card do again? Do you have to do a Hutt Contract for it? I don't recall seeing it out there.

Yeah, its a hutt contract. It came out just before Death Star on its own. Level 1 & 2 is speed increases and level 3 is an instant melee kill. Everything seems to move really slowly when you use something else!

Ha! I'll have to try it. Well, make sure I've finished the contract first.

I've been sticking with Survivalist in an attempt to get to lvl 3.

I love to use the Dioxis as well in close quarters, it is extremely useful in close quarters. Also fun to throw at Luke/Vader when they are busy dueling.

And I also wish I could aim with the TL-50 as well. But I have grown use to using Berserker with it and I can still wreck people a distance from me. The Secondary Fire thing is fun and does help for corners. But it is something LG else when you watch those things fire back and forth when playing.

As for new modes have they said what they are doing? God I would love Heroes vs Villains on these maps.

On a side note is Luke Skywalker hard as all heck to kill in fighter squadron for anyone else? I could maybe do it if other enemy ships weren't shooting me.

A bespin extraction where the imperials try and get a rebel agent out frozen in carbonite and the imperials try and stop them!

That would be ace.

I paid for the season pass today, it was about 50 per cent off so i thought i'd take a punt.

So far so good.. Loving the death star levels.

Oh, yeah. Dioxis is great against the heroes. Also good on those maps with the choke points where half the enemy team is in one room....
