Star Wars Battlefront

By heychadwick, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I haven't had a chance to play much in at least a week, if not two (vacation). I hope to play some more soon.

Well....guess on the vehicle....the App that tells you stuff had a bit where it tracked how many kills you got with various vehicles. At one point, it had Y-wing there. So, my guess is Y-wing.

I hope Y-wing, and it does fit the Death Star...

TIE Advanced seems to be coming in the Death Star update... but can't see any new rebel ship.

Bought new SSD, installed Win 10 and Battlefront, crashes on start up. Well f..k...

Reinstalling Origin helped. Now I remember how bad that game is. :D

Jabba is back with another Hutt Contract for players to unlock.

abba is back with another Hutt Contract for players to unlock. The Stinger Pistol is the first charged Star Card that is an actual weapon which can be freely fired during the card’s active time. While not as strong as a primary blaster, it can be fired freely, is immune to Sabotage and delivers Stinger Damage to enemies, which will continuously burn off health until the effect wears off or the soldier is defeated.

Name: Pistolier

Type: Charge Card

Bounty: Get 5 Kills with Stinger Pistol

Get 30 Kills with DH-17

Get 30 Kills with SE-14C

Stinger Pistol Tips

Dev Tips

Try to hit as many enemies as possible, since the stinger damage doesn’t stack multiple times on the same soldier.

Stim pack creates immunity to the stinger shot, and a Bacta bomb is the perfect way to get out of certain death.

New Heroes

The developers also confirmed the upcoming heroes as Bossk, and one we know you've all been waiting for, everyone's favorite co-pilot, Chewbacca. Chewie has been one of the most requested heroes and we are excited to see him team up alongside current heroes including his partner, Han Solo.

Space Combat

There are all-new maps, with combat taking place in space outside the Death Star, and inside the walls of the ultimate weapon.

Multi-Stage Gameplay

Test your skill by taking off and flying through a trench on the surface of the Death Star.

New Vehicles + More

You do get to see a Tie Adv. in the artwork for the expansion. I do like the idea of multi stage gameplay for the flight aspect. It would be cool to have more depth to the fighter expansion.

oooh. Fighter battles on master...

Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles, it seems I'm not working on the Death Star Double Score weekend!

Though that thursday we come home from the holiday to Mallorca, so I'll of course be busy enough.

Have they said if bounties can be unlocked in skirmish?

I don't think skirmish unlocks anything. I id load it up on fighter squadron, go straight to master and win 200-16x. I admit though that I had to play properly, had to use the falcon and had to go for objectives both friendly and enemy. This said I used both X and A wings.

50 kills.

For the life of me,I'll never understand why updates are so large. If we'd update our software like that at work we'd never be finished.

Its on console, right? Its pretty expensive to do patches for console, which is why devs usually throw everything in there. Which means, if they redid a few textures that adds up quickly given the resolutions games have these days.

I kinda hope they port the DLC maps over to Skirmish too. I am really enjoying it.

Will this game compete with Eternal Crusade, BFGA and Subnautica*? probably not but it's back to being a good laugh.

* If this game had Co-op, it would be all i play ever. Seriously, look up Subnautica, it is amazing.

I doubt it is more expensive than the security updates for our datacenters, to name but one thing. ;) .

This single update was 12GB. That's just reissuing the entire game, not a patch.

I didn't get to try it. I forgot about updating my Xbox until I wanted to play it. It took forever and then it was time to get to the game store for X-wing.

Oh, you can only get bounties through online play. No private matches.

I actually really like it. I tried a couple games of walker assault too, one as imp and the other as reb. I swear i spent most of that as han solo fighting desperate battles against literal hordes of stormtroopers.

Basically it's not a reflection of true multiplayer, as the bot types are more r less the same. - they swarm you, rarely use special stuff except for the odd ATST and fighter. But man, that's ok. It makes you feel like it's a pitched battle.

I do see them using multiple grenade launchers and shields quite a bit. Sometimes the pulse cannon. I figure they use the "default" loadouts for the skirmish.

Same here, though I had to get to work instead of gaming.

This update was only 3.8gb for me. Do you not have season pass?

Said 12 gig for me but was done in ~ half an hour.

I see this with steam quite often, I reckon it means 3-4 gigs compressed, taking 12 gigs space upon install.

Nah, I'll get that this weekend I guess, the promised upgrading seems to be worth it.

Silly me from bad internet zone thinking of 4-5GB :D 12GB isn't large, thats gigantic! Yes, it might not be more expensive (it probably isn't), but games publishers like to cut cost on such things. There is a fixed cost for every patch you release (+ probably linear scaling price for data volume). Which means making more small patches is more expensive than one large update idealy timed together with your latest DLC pack. We are talking about EA. You already bought the game, so they don't care if you need to download their stuff overnight.
