Star Wars Battlefront

I would love offline split screen against bots. That would be awesome.

Game needs it. Battle mode just doesn't quite cut it.

Finally got my Hutt Contracts that require the targeting rifle out of the way. I hate that gun. Its like a worse T-21.

Ummm....they have an offline split screen mode against bots. It's been there since the game came out. They have expanded the maps you can play in, too. There are three settings: Normal, Hard, and Master. There are three ways to play: Solo, Online Co-op, and Split Screen Co-op.

Yeah but its only deathmatch or that hero vs villian mode. I'd like Squadron or Walker Assault offline.

I like the DTL-19X, its really good with a cooling cell. I wouldn't be surprised if it had the highest dpm in the game out of all infantry carried select-able weapons when it has cooling cell. Killed a A-wing and a Snow Speeder with one. I was looking forward to using the toxic gas grenades, turns out they may only be good in king of the hill style game modes. Unless one, maybe more than 2, are used at a time it seems it can't kill people well since the can just run through it. Unless of course they are already hurt bad.

I had wondered about that, but hadn't tried it yet. So, I guess it's good! I've got a mission to get 75 kills with a sniper rifle, so I think I'll try this out.

It's a lot easier to get toxic gas kills on the other game modes, like Evacuation. That's the best one for it. Any time you capture a point or droid is good. It's not too bad on others. It's good if you know where someone is camping or there is a choke point. It's also good if you see some people, but want to split them up. Throw it out there and the first usually rushes through while the back people peel off. Makes it easier, but just don't be out in the open while you are throwing. It's also good as it goes through the little force shield bubbles.

I have to warn you, the DTL-19X isnt easy to pickup and use. Think of it as a Cycle Rifle eith no bullet drop, no shield pen, quicker cooldown (all though longer than normal weapons.)

I also regret to say that, despite it being a free dlc weapon, you need to buy the dlc to get its long ranged scope. My friend and I were debating if the DLT-19X was a Sniper Rifle. He felt it wasnt because of the quality of the scope, after testing all the dlc weapons in survival mode. He had also seen a video showing the DLT-19X with a short ranged scope. However after i had showed him a video with me using the DLT-19X, he could see it did have a long ranged scope.

At first we thought maybe they gimp the DLT-19X in survival, but then I believe they vid he watched thats owned by another person that recorded during online gameplay. So from what I can tell you can get the gun for free but you need to buy the dlc packs to get the scope it should have. JIC check it out before buying dlc.

Yes, that's the battle mode that doesn't quite cut it.

New Hutt Contract just hit. It unlocks the Berserker trait which increases your blaster damage once you receive damage. I haven't unlocked it yet, but from the videos I've seen it looks pretty good and possibly slightly OP.

To unlock you have to hit trait level 3, 5 times. Which isn't that hard to do. Once you hit 3, you go back to 2 when you die so all you need to do is get 3 more kills. Just have to play pretty cautiously.

Cool. Was it a patch? I'm just wondering if I have to do anything for it.

Was there anything else that might have patched?

I dunno. I just heard it was in there. I haven't looked myself.

Don't think it was a patch, at least my ps4 hasn't downloaded it so idk

Not a patch, maybe a timed unlock?

I'm getting really annoyed by the infantry turrets and the droids who are somehow able to lock on from straight across the map and shoot unerringly. There are more of them than I can remember as well.

Grinding for the Hutt unlocks have upped my game, I love the target rifle.

I played a bunch yesterday on Blast. It seems the aces of that format are running around with Explosive Fire ability and the really fast repeating pistol. It's nasty to turn the corner on them. I'll get them down to 20% or less, but end up dying.

Is weird, over the years I have lost countless days of my life to online FPS multiplayers (all the way from the original Doom to the various Call of Duties). I have always loved Star Wars, always.

Yet once the 'Wow factor' of the Star Wars-ness of Battlefront wore off I put the controller down and never picked it up. That's right. this game turned me off FPS shooters and console gaming.

The doozy of it .. I have no idea why!? I don't dislike the game. I had no negative experiences ... yet it was the catalyst in changing my enjoyment for gaming.

Probably because its game play, not really being allowed to do what you want to do, like pilot vehicles when you want to. Even if you want to and one is available, you have to find it, and it wont be in a obvious place. Some of the players think that those vehicle powerups should remain a guarded secret, so they have next to full access to them.

I am kinda burned out on this game. Killing people left in right in dogfight mode was fun, but the actual fun dog-fighting levels are the ones that have all the battlefront stuff going on, and if your Imperial you are limited to how long you can dogfight, unless you never get shot down, which I can do a lot, but still... I could just be entering a game already in play and have zero access to the stuff I really want to do.

You know theres something wrong when HALO 5 on twitch has a hell of a lot more people watching that game-play, and its Xbox One exclusive, than Battlefront, which is on Xbox, PS, and PC. I am also getting tired of them using only Bounty Hunters as the hero characters for the Empire.

BTW new challenge, the community has to do 1 mill emotes to unlock a Pepsi 1 exclusive emote... Yaaaah... -_-

Pepsi emote hey. I've always argued the achievement system in Xbox was showed how easily we can be manipulated (though getting achievements from Netflix for watching 10 eps of a show back to back should activate some kind of self destruct sequence in your xbox and open your front door for you). Pepsi emote is getting ridiculous. You don't have to be in mktg to see how ridiculous this promotional vehicle is.

I don't want to bag Battlefront out. It's a great game .. it just killed that little gaming spark in me.

Now, if I could play Dark Forces again but with BF graphics .. that could be fun.

Yeah, that's the star wars game I want...

Emotes, I think I can count the times I've noticed them being used on one hand, not counting the wait time. Useless addition overall.

I sill like the game, it's always good for a mindless blast, apart from the ubiquitous turrets.

Needs more SP content, but we all knew that. I've not even turned my xbox one on in a month or two.

I think you are focused more on the pilot side of things than I am. I don't usually play the Squadron side of things unless I have a mission to complete or I just want a change of pace. If I'm playing the bigger maps, I will avoid those pilot upgrades all the time. I often see them sitting out in the open and not being used. SWBF is not really a flying game for me. I know a lot of people want it to be, but it's just not.

People's flavor changes sometimes. Maybe it's not this game, but just you that's changed? I never used to be into FPS so much until the Battlefront system came out. I don't want it all the time, but often enough. I do like other game modes, too, though. Civilization is just awesome and replay value is great.

Oh, as for the Community Challenge....those are always lame. I mean....you do whatever and get....bonus XP for a weekend? Has there been a good community challenge ever? Getting a new emote? Sure....whatever.

Yeah... I also keep unlocking twitch and youtube achievements, and I didn't even know they existed, and I think they keep adding more as well, I think I got one for watch for 10 hours and doing something else at the same time.

The only Emote I like is the Ion one, which should be renamed the Turkey Caller.

I was mostly talking about star fighters, but I also was talking about driving the ground vehicles. I just miss being able to use them when I want, unless of course someone is using one. But you could just wait in the spawn point. EA changes the spawn points for power ups, and puts them in weird places. Unless the community has a tight lid on it, they finally made a level in which you can not drive the AT-AT , that's the Twilight Level. Its actually my favorite map in the game.

I like the graphics and at least half the gameplay mechanics in the game, I can't say the parts I don't like are bad, just annoying or average. I was kinda hoping they would do something new for the series, when I mean new I mean like new ways to play fps with unique environments which would in turn make it a different and fun way to play fps.

I hope someday they have a underwater planet lvl, the game mechanics are a bit different to make up for the fact you and your enemies are swimming, unless of course they have some special dive gear that weighs them down a lot.

I could just imagine the new types of maritime Imperials that could exist, and the aquatic species in the RA that would be involved in these battles. Like the Abyss Trooper, they look like a dark blue and dull dark Grey Darktrooper mk 2, they are covered in wicked looking vi bro spikes and blades to prevent being bitten or grabbed by giant marine predators. They are armed with mini-proton torpedo launchers, twin light arm mounted arc-caster on each arm. Vibro talons on each finger and where their toes would be. Retractable flippers on their feet, multi environment thruster pack, right shoulder mounted concussion cannon, left shoulder mounted rapid pulse cannon.

The eye and mouth pieces glow a dark red cooler when not in combat or when they desire to be detected. This would add to their appearances in that they came from hell.

Unlike Aquatic Assault Troopers Abyss Troopers are specially trained troopers in the Imperial NAVY that have equipment that allows them to reach the bottom floor of every ocean in the known Galaxy and board enemy ships that may be hiding their and or being built their. They are built with unique materials that allow them to also dive into caustic oceans that have no trace of H2O

I think the only good one was when we had to kill X amount of people, we unlocked a skin or something... When I say good I mean that based off all the community challenges. It is better than a pepsi emote, but I guess thats not saying much.

Renegade and Elite were the best, I loved the stories in those games. Love the part were you were supposed to go to the Sith home-world to steal a holocron from Darth Sidious personal shuttle. Needless to say he and his legion were not amused.

I ran and never looked back, just like the Friar in Van Helsing when hes being chased by Igor with a cattle prod from hell.

I played a fair amount this weekend. I had fun, but....I'm ready for the next expansion to come out. One thing I hate is that you can't play the new maps mixed in with the rotation of the old maps. That's pretty annoying. I know Titanfall would mix in the new with the old. Also, if you want to play the new maps, you have to pick some random format. So...you just pick the maps and it could be anything. I hate Hero Hunter, but it might stick me with that. Or with Cargo, which is not one of my favorites.
