Star Wars Battlefront

I'm hoping the dlc will add something more.... epic. I want a mission like scenario broken up into multiple segments, similar to unreal tourney's assault mode way back in the day. I really like walker assault, but it just doesn't go far enough. In the end, it's still just domination.

Maybe the DLC will have ... Galactic Campaign and Space Battles! HAHAHAHAHa.... I kid, I kid. ... but no really.

Anyway with the new dlc coming out soon I hope we get new game modes. One could be a Survival game that allows 10-30 people, they re in a wrecked capital ship and a Dark Trooper shows up. Your job is to stay alive and make your way through the ship and into the hanger and steal a passenger craft. If you die once its a game over. Hacking through doors or activating defenses or other systems uses the same command prompt as capturing command points.

The Dark Trooper cant die, it can one hit kill the players with direst hits from rockets, heavy plasma beams, and its arc caster, which will jump player to player. If you die once its a game over for you. The reason you will want to shoot the Dark Trooper is to distract him from the person/s currently trying to hack / cut through walls and blasters, or trying to use computer systems to help them get through the ship.

I think music playing with a beat similar to this would be awesome while being hunted by the Dark Trooper.

They should have an achievement just for making it to the end, also it should be scripted at the end to ether have the Dark Trooper kill the survivors after they think they have escaped and or it has enough time to launch a tracker onto the escaping ship hull.

They could have more mission like this one with different specialized trooper showing up to kill your group. This specific mission should be named "The Grey Nightmare".

I recently acquired AVP (2010), and it's pretty good, cbut the whole emotion/vibe of the game doesn't feel right for Star Wars. However, I do know that Star Wars means so many different things to different people that variety in Battlefront will be a good thing (as long as new game modes don't take people away from the awesome starfighter battles).

OK.....what the heck is the difference between Tie Fighters and Tie Interceptors. I read that Tie Interceptors are more improved and faster, but beyond that, I can't tell a difference in the game.

I think, in game at least, tie fighters are identical to a-wings (except for specials) and interceptors are identical to x-wings. The fighters better at killing stuff in the air, while the xwing and squint are better at killing stuff on the ground (or shooting down snow speeders)

I think it's reverse. Tie Fighters are the same as X-wings. I don't know. The Tie Fighter is slower, but I can't tell if it's guns are more powerful or less powerful than the Interceptor. I think its possible that the Tie Fighter can go a lot slower than the Interceptor and that that is part of it's strength. You can really slow down when you want to.....I think.

Still not figured it out myself. TIE Fighters guns seem more accurate, but TIE Fighter is WAY easier to hit.

A-wing still OP.

All I know is that I feel cooler when I'm in an X-wing or a TIE interceptor, and that A-wings are OP. But it does feel to me like the TIE interceptor is faster than the TIE fighter, which is faster than the X-wing. I want believe the TIE interceptor's cannons are stronger, but it's hard to gauge because you can modulate your thrust/firepower so fluidly, which is a really neat feature.

The only thing about the Tie Fighter vs. Interceptor is that there is a balance between speed and guns. I think it's how fast they overheat? If you aren't using your energy for speed then you can shoot your guns longer? So....with the Interceptor being faster, maybe it means you can fire longer with the Tie Fighter? Well...as long as you are going slower. I mean, an Interceptor on slow as possible will still fire longer than a Tie Fighter going fast as possible.

That's the only thing I can THINK of, not that it's true or not.

Saw a new announcement for the game. New DLC for January. There is a new map and new modes for older maps. There will be some tweaks to the game, too.

They announced more stuff for the next few months. It looks pretty cool.

So I see that a Season Pass will open up some new stuff in the future, but is there anything that the Season Pass is good for right now?

Personally, I don't think I'm purchasing any new modes for the same 4-5 maps.

But I'm most excited about the "balancing and tweaks." A-wings, it's time to get what's coming to you!

But you don't have to. They are giving new modes and maps for free. The pay stuff will hopefully have more info.

I did get a Season Pass for Xmas.

Season pass info straight from their site:

So at a minimum it looks like we are getting at least two new environments/planets. The Death Star and Bespin. Really looking forward to Bespin. That should be pretty epic.

As far as free stuff you are getting two new maps the next two months. I was hoping for a sportier release schedule, but at lest 3 DLCs will hit this year.

I had a really odd game of fighter squadron last night. It was laggy as hell as it told me i had a slow server connection and i *was* getting frustrated with it but everyone elses lag must have totally sucked compared to mine as i got 4 player kills and 36 AI kills and every other player was struggling to even hit the bots.

Oddly one of the highest scoring games of fighter squadron to date :)

My best was 21 player kills, over 10000 points. I got the falcon early, rammed slave 1 etc...I average out at 7-14 depending on faction/side etc.

I ignore AI's in favour of PKing. Especially if i had a bad run as the Imperial faction previously. Revenge sweet. ("HAH, I'M IN THE A-WING NOW M******F*****er, YEAH, HOW DO YOU LIKE IT? HEY , YOU GOT ME LAST ROUND TOO, NOT IN AN A-WING NOW ARE YOU?! P****Y??".)

They really need to rebalance FS. Because The A-wings man.

Totally, A wings are a no brainer, so hard to hit and really punchy when you play them

I personally love the idea of being imperials but an Awing has (or an xwing ) TWO defences when being shot at.. evasive maneuver or shields...

as a tie of eithe type you get the manouvre, the speed boost is practically worthless and i find the imperial missile less useful too.

I'd rather that they either made interceptors and a wings *much* faster and maneuverable than the ties and xs or balanced out numbers so that a game was 10 vs 20 and TIEs were much more fragile but did outnumber the rebels

I've found these days playing as a tie fighter is more survivable as people at first assume you're a bot...

Today I got shot down over Jakku and twice respawned right in front of scenery, twice.

The TIE Missile is crucial but you need to know when to use it.

Basically, hold off firing until they deploy shields, as soon as they do, fire it (preferably make them evade first so they can't just dodge). the missile disables their shields. That's what it brings to the table, once that's done, kill it. Or shoot at an a-wing until it's wingman kills you. Whatever.

Rather than 10 v 20, I'd like Rebels to be required to reach a higher point total, thus mimicking the swarm of Imperials they need to take out. 10 v 20 would be tough as Rebel, because you'd hardly be able to line up a shot without exploding.

Once I killed 3 A-wings in one match. I felt so awesome...unfortunately those were my only kills, but it was a moral victory.

Yeah we've talked about offsetting the fighter amounts, and removing K/D as a stat - it'd my ideal world scenario.

I can kill A-wings, but have found it better off to ignore them and kill X's. More kills that way. It's just a question of efficiency.

Yeah, more often than not I just ignore A-wings. Which is hard to do when, like you said, there's always an A-wing on your 6 looking to get a quick kill while you're distracted. Can't wait to get home tonight and play a little bit to see the current situation post-update.

I've just spent a bit of time on it today.

Played really smoothly and i've took out a few awings.

I've also sussed out where the falcon/slave1 spawns are on a few maps now which helps a little bit.

Just got to stop myself getting obsessed with tailing either 'big ship' , i brought the falcon down with a tie interceptor withouth dying today but it took most of my game.

I also killed slave 1 but that was less glorious as i crashed the falcon into him...

Gadge: Activate the shields right before ramming. Drink the slave 1 guys tears.

It was very close to the end of the round and i wanted a quick kill
