As I work my way through the scenarios, missions, tutorials, videos, etc. I realize that there is really no better training than just fly. That being said, I know that my piloting abilities will always be a work in progress. As such, where is the best place to start? I assume the PWT lists are the easiest to fly. I also assume swarm lists are the hardest. What about triple ace lists? 3 ships operating more or less independently seems doable.

2nd question: Is the learning curve different for the different factions? I'm assuming that learning to fly Imps can be more difficult but I'm not sure. Thanks again for helping the new guys.

ease is always secondary to interest

pick a ship that looks awesome or has an awesome character/game play mechanic first, and build off of there

PWTs are quite forgiving and easily the simplest ships in the game to fly, but without the sheer nostalgia-appeal of characters such as Han Solo or Chewbacca, they quickly become the most boring ships to fly with and against

except for Oicuun; Oicuun's got a boss-mode hilarious and utterly awesome pilot ability
