Help me tweak my Boba list.

By Rogue Dakotan, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

This is the list I took to worlds:

Temp Allicance
Boba
Jyn
GIdeon

Elite Trandoshans

Hired Gun

Hired Gun

Can't remember the specifics of my command deck. But dirty trick and slippery target are awesome. Also smuggled Supplies on Jyn is nuts.

I went 3/2 in the warm up tournament (one of my losses was to Paul Heaver).

I went 2/5 in the actual tournament. I only faced rebel lists full of saboteurs with the exception of one.

I want to squeeze explosive armaments into my list but I'm not sure where to make room.

I really enjoyed the list. The hired guns usually died pretty hard, but were good at controlling objectives and terminals and putting out a bit of damage on their way out.

I'd love any feedback for ways to tweak this list up. Trying to build a mercenary list around Boba is really tough.

I know very little about Merc lists beyond "Boba Fett is amazing." However, I wanted to mention something my friend said who does run Mercs. He said to run a Nexu for two reasons. He actually runs both, but suggests at least the 4 point regular. The first is their incredible movement combined with their ability to block hallways. He states that if he can activate first and move his Nexu all the way to his opponent's starting zone in a hallway, immediately putting that person off their game by trapping them inside and automatically disrupting any starting plans they may have had, the ripple effect on this is great he says. You're counting on the Dodge to keep them trapped in there, but the Elite Nexu actually has the Health to survive an attack or two. The initial stall this grants can allow you to bottle your opponent for long enough to deny them reaching an important goal they previously thought was easily within their reach. When they blow through it, you've lost 4 (or 6) points.

The second reason is also psychological, he said that it draws every eye to it, and often his opponent would target the Nexu, especially the Elite Nexu, when a more optimal or tactically better shot was available. He says that for whatever reason, people are super worried about it and will stumble over themselves trying to kill it.

Of course, I don't think I was stumbling over myself when he played me... but it did trap me in my starting zone for three activtions.

I can see the value of an Elite Nexu, but I've always been underwhelmed by the regular version.

I do like the hallway-stall idea though; I'll have to give it a run myself.

I'll second that Nexu, particularly the Elites, are pretty good. The automatic bleed on both, and the auto cleave on the elite are particularly good aspects too that are easy to overlook.

Granted, bleed is not as good as stun, but it will often eat up an action to remove it just the same.

I had high hopes for the Hired Guns but have been disappointed so far since they die very quickly and don't always strike back for much at all.

The HK droids and Wampas due in the Hoth expansion both have some good potential in the future. I've done 1 or 2 test skirmishes with them so far: pretty good.
