Anti-Pursuit Laser trigger other than with a bump?

By Kdubb, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Had a game today where my opponent said his anti pursuit lasers triggered because my maneuver overlapped his ship equipped with Anti-Pursuit Laser, even though my ships final position was not in an overlapping position. There was a ship between his and mine which kept my ship from settling in a position which would bump with the anti pursuit laser equipped ship.

Can anyone point me to the rule which states this ruling? I have been under the impression that anti-pursuit lasers only triggered on a physical bump between the ships which ended with both touching.

Overlapping Ships

When executing a maneuver, if a ship overlaps more than one ship, it is treated as having overlapped only the ship or ships that it is touching in its final position.

It's the final position that matters, and if, after moving your ship back along the template, your final position wasn't overlapping the APL ship, they won't trigger.

THANK YOU! I was pretty sure I was correct, but seeing as it isn't a territory I've had to deal with often, I wasn't 100% sure.
