Ransburger has done some amazing work on the vassal armada module, and deserves more credit. Two international tournaments wouldn't and couldn't have happened without him.

And if all goes well, he'll soon finish adding the new ships and squadrons to vassal, giving more people a chance to try plans, ships, formations and strategies before going to tournaments and friendly games with their amazing model ships.

It's not easy work, it involves things like maths and computers and I dunno like angles and stuff, so from those of us who enjoy the fruit of his labours:

No idea. . . Not likely. Closer to Phoenix

That's where you want to be anyway as far as the Armada scene. Tucson has a decent scene going and Phoenix is very active.

If only vassal was a bit more intuitive. I tried but got completely lost trying to find out how to select my ships & upgrades and then placing them on the playfield.

This is very, very easy.

Get online with someone - or read the Guide. Either works. Setup takes 5 minutes, after which you can save your setup and load it in seconds the next time.

Everything is RIght-click for action menu, with tons of short-cuts once you get the basics down.
