4NDY's (LadyJulianne's) Custom Shipyard

By ladyjulianne, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Has there been any updates on the Pancake, like the expected passenger capacity and the like? Just curious as this is a custom ship, and I'd rather give it custom stats instead of just a slapped together pile of numbers.

I'll be out of town for the next few days at a convention I'm staffing and GMing (and I'm running Star Wars, which is part of my recent radio silence), but I'll be back online sometime next week.

I should also note I'm going to be AWOL for a while later this month as I move, and I won't have internet for a bit, so if you have something you want statted from this thread, let me know ASAP!

I haven't had time no, I've been stressing over my finals lol

As currently passenger capacity is 0, with crew capacity for 6 total. I don't have the foggiest what cargo capacity would be. In theory speed 4 (essentially installing the ion drive attachment built in), Hyperdrive of one step faster than stock (essentially installing the hyperdrive attachment built in.) The fancy quarters attachment could in theory be applied but those are the captain quarters, so idk. Honestly I'm not a fan of most of those attachments (An entire Hard Point just so I can say I have a crate of Chardonnay on board? Or that I can play the radio over the ship's intercom? I don't think so.) Handling should in theory be the same as before. Armor stays the same probably (I'd keep the same level of armoring on the added deck as the rest of the ship) Shields I don't know how you'll handle those, if it stays Sil4 would it be 2/2, or stays at 1/1 assuming it's a wider area and needs the extra generator to keep it up, or go 1/2 and assume the second generator was gutted to install the upgraded shields attachment built in like the hyperdrive. It's keeping all 4 medium laser turrets.

So I think the biggest things will be cargo, hull trauma, system strain, and hard points.

That whole section at the end is right up my alley. I didn't know if he wanted to have extra space for passengers, how large the crew is going to be, or if it was all being devoted to cargo except the needed space for the crew.

For the quick and dirty: double cargo capacity (at least), as well as double passengers (unless we want to convert that space back; give back about 10 ENC per passenger). Armor would stay the same, system strain MIGHT go up a hair due to redundant systems, defense remains the same (generators covering more space).

Handling is a point we can argue, as the extra mass is odd, but if the rebuilding lead to some relocation of the maneuvering systems, it could still maintain -1. Yes, speed would remain at 4 as long as all the engines remain intact and are rigged correctly.

You can argue that the systems in the other ship (like hyperdrive and engines) would be needed due to the extra mass. Upgrading those during the rebuild is all you.

I'd consider dropping the HP to 2-4, but give the things you already mentioned as a partial hand-wave:new hyperdrive, backup shield generators, etc. I'd be wary about leaving two stock YT-1300s with their full HP after being mounted together, as 12 HP on that beast would be a literal beast. I'd argue that due to some of the work being done, you are losing some of that versatility as you rewire things and weld them together.

(And yes, I do agree the radio system and the bar attachments are really crappy attachments that shouldn't take a hard point to install; they are just a hand-waive thing at my table).

Once the person wanting the ship gives some details (or if you choose them), I'll gladly come back and give it a cleaner writeup for you.

Before I vanish for the move (won't have reliable internet until after the holidays), was there an update on this, like crew size or anything? Just curious, especially since I'd love to see this project complete and hear what the next one is :-D

YES!

Bring it on...

Huh, I thought I posted at least slightly more recently than I apparently have.. sorry for the delay, I've been pretty swamped with holiday work and trying (and failing) to finish up my school semester. But I'm at least somewhat back now. I won't be really back till after new years at least though because of work.

Here's a bit of an update on the Pancake :D Got the kitchen/lounge worked out for the most part. I'm not happy with the bottom left corner area but I have no idea what to do with it. There's a 4 seat booth in the upper left near the elevator shaft. Bits of the kitchen that I don't think are obvious are labeled (hastily), Trash Compactor, Dish Washer, and the double Ovens. There's seating for the entire crew plus a couple to eat, in case there are guests. And I guess if there's many guests you can always eat on the couch.

Originally I had a tiny galley kitchen with 2 sets of doors into the area but it was just too cramped. So I killed a door and widened the kitchen by a ton. I figure the Captain eats at the booth, perhaps with his first mate. I may widen the booth too since I think he was rather large?

Thanks for the extra details! Glad to see this project hasn't vanished!

My time online is wishy-washy (just finished putting the PC back together today), but I'll be checking for further updates on number expectations soon!

"The Shuttle" is my Age of Rebellion party's ship and HQ. They're a special ops team from G.R.H.I.D. (Grand Republic Hazard Intervention Division) just before the end of the Clone Wars, hence why it's so fancy.
In game stats are as follows at the time of posting (we have a ship modder so they may change frequently)

These attachments have been integrated into the base schematics of the ship by professional shipwrights with government funding, modifying them voids warranties and will put strain on the ship as if adding new attachments.

I'm using 75m for the ship length because I still believe the scaling is terribly off at the given length. The Bridge and Fore Gunnery controls are offset from the rest of the decks to fit in the tapered nose of the ship. Deck 1 largely only exists in portions of the hull that extend upward beyond the 'wings', as normally the wings are too short for a full deck. The engine access corridors are thus short in height, and our current repair droid (who decided to be based on a light loader droid) takes penalties inside them. He's built an R2 repair droid to help him in small spaces since. The Port/Starboard docking corridors however would be built up to be full height. Deck 2 has very obvious changes to the hull, widening the entire length. The idea for this came from a CROC with cargo containers lining the entire wing on each side, if they can add containers, why can't I add walls?
This version of the Gozanti is acting as a prototype to the Imperial Gozanti Carrier that will be featured in the Rebels era portion of the campaign. It's also heavily based on "The Bus" from Agents of Shield.

I should also mention the Server Room is for the ship's AI, "ADI: Adaptive Defense Intelligence", whose primary role is to prevent ship hacking in the case I decide to implement such a thing. Otherwise she grants a boost die to most shipboard rolls she could conceivably aid in, functions as an intercom, and a voice activated database. She's "Adaptive" because she gains xp, albeit at a much slower pace than the party, and can learn new spec's other than Slicer as the party chooses. Her stats aren't fantastic, she's mostly there to shore up the lack of dedicated computer expert on board and help show the party, who's fairly new to the game, that computer use can be very powerful.

Relatedly, the party has a B2 Battle droid that has been programmed into a bodyguard/gunner for the ship, and the above mentioned R2.
