Nope.

When you measure line of sight sometimes you measure through your own ship then an obstacle. Normally you would just lose 1 die for the attack but if you counted each obstruction and lost a die for each obstruction.

You get the idea. Sometimes you will get only 1 obstruction but at times you could have several.

This can't be an Imperial upgrade either. They have an Officer that gives them a free obstruction.

Darkfortunex, I really appreciate that people spend time and creativity to come up with homebrews. That being said, I still feel that some abilities are too strong to offset them with pointcosts. As one example, Ascendant not only directly counters an inherited design flaw of the MC80 (as she can never use gunnery teams) but also turns it into a big advantage as you are not required to fire on a different target (like gunnery teams would require you to do). I would pay 15 pts on any large and most medium ships without hesitation, and even more with rebells as it would basically allow me to double-broadside the same target, potentially profiting twice from ackbar - thats 18 dice (without any CF, EA or other upgrades) on a single targets hull zone in one activation ..

Other examples are Despoiler on a Glad and Impetous on a raider. They change the design in such a fundamental way that I do not see a way to tone them done with pointcosts alone. Flinging black dice (with the potential upgrades attached thereto, like APT or ACM) at long range just breaks the design of the ship and would allow it to potentially outdamage an AFII at long range.. as for the raider, I think there was a reason why FFG did not develop any upgrade allowing you to straight add more dice to the flak armament, and I would not feel comfortable with a ship dealing an average of 3 damage to all squadrons in range and arc per activation.

To circumvent the balance issue, I think I'll make a set of customized cards to give my fleet character using existing cards for their effects. I.e. my customized admiral card will have the same effect and cost as Motti.
