If a YV 666 flies off the board does it get to deploy the Nashta Pup? The rule book says when a ship goes off the play field it is destroyed which should trigger Nashta Pup. If it does trigger Nashta Pup from where does it deploy?

Per the deployment rules it does not get to deploy if the Hounds Tooth flees the battlefield.
There's no ship left to deploy from!
