No Millennium Falcon?

By David Spangler, in Star Wars: Rebellion

In Freedom in the Galaxy , the rebels have two or three special ships which act almost as characters in themselves and make possible the movement of heroes, as well as adding other bonuses to space combat, etc. I was hoping this game would have something similar for Han Solo's iconic Millennium Falcon, ideally an actual miniature that would be part of the rebel fleet just as it was in the movies. The pictures of the game components don't show such a ship, which is a disappointment; it may be in the game as a card or some form of upgrade, but it seems a shame not to have the MF as a playable piece moving about the galaxy with Han and Chewy and who knows who else inside. It's just not SW without MF!

Maybe in a future expansion?

I could see that as an option if it (or any unique ship) can be given a role that cannot be easily filled by the commanders. Right now it's implied that when you send Han on a mission he's in the Falcon, but if they have it some kind of space combat bonus or resource bonus (to represent smuggling) it could be interesting.

In the PC game, Han always had the Falcon, but it couldn't be used in combat. It just gave him (and anyone traveling with him) lightspeed travel capability without being in a ship.

Without seeing the rules, we don't really know how we use the major characters yet, or if there is some sort of implied Falcon rule.

I'd bet they've held some of the minis back for future reveals, too. MF and Slave 1 seem like pretty obvious inclusions.

Technically every named personal could travel without a ship. It was just implied they took a shuttle. Though you could say Han took the Falcon.

Of course you can just buy a Rouges and Villians expansion from Armada and use the Falcon there for this game.

Yeah, why not? Just use that as a stand-in for Han during space battles!

it would be nice to have some unique ships!!

Look on eBay first for the Armada me mini before buying the whole pack. The YT-1300 isn't very popular so people cracking sets to sell singles should have a surplus.

Or Future Expansions.

"What the hell is an aluminium falcon?"

Seems like most of the ships are non-unique military units, not distinctive individual ships. I imagine anything to do with the Falcon would be represented by Han's leader abilities.

The Falcon could also be one of the upgrade rings. Grants anyone who has it 1 additional space tactic card. If attached to Han, grants 2 additional space tactic cards, or 1 ground and 1 space. Something like that.

Fairly thematic and would seem to fit from what we've seen of the game so far.

Woody's face is my reaction to that idea.

As suspected, the falcon is a leader ring. It can be used to rescue a captured leader. Pretty good.
