Now there is still a lot of stuff that hasn't been spoiled for the Ghost/Phantom expansion, but it seems likely that it will probably be the first viable one ship build in the game (pseudo "one ship," that is, with the Phantom docked in it). I think that it's going to be game changing, and would have been game breaking, but FFG foresaw that and began making adjustments before the Ghost even hits the market. Here's why I think that:
First, Agent Kallus will released with the Gozanti right before the Ghost arrives with the rest of wave 8. His card text reads:
At the start of the first round, choose 1 enemy small or large ship. When attacking or defending against that ship, you may change 1 of your focus results to a hit or evade result.
Second, and far more indicative, is FFG's recent change to the MOV rules, stating that you get half points for half damaged large based ships. Many players rejoiced (or lamented, depending) at the new rule because of how much it grounded Fat-PWT builds. But I see a potentially bigger reason for the change. Under the old MOV rules a "one-ship list" fully loaded tanky Ghost could fly in, blow up a TIE fighter or a Z-95, and then run away for the rest of the match, easily gaining a full win. Doesn't sound like much fun. I think it was that possibility- not the existence of Fat-Han- that was the driving force behind the MOV rule change.
So what is the point of all this, you ask? Um... I'm not really sure. It's late at night and I'm sick and my brain is fried and I'm not thinking clearly. But either way I'm excited for the Ghost to come out. I think it's going to be cool. ![]()
