Jan Ors (Crew) and Focus action based triggers

By avaktor, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If Jan Ors crew is used to change the token from a focus action to an evade, does the action still count as a focus for the purposes of triggering abilities?

Take Jake Farrell for instance, if he performs a focus action he can then boost or barrell roll. If he performs a Focus and Jan Ors converts the token to an evade, can he still trigger his ability?

Based on the wording in the cards and the rules in the FAQ I think the answer is yes as Jan Ors changes the token, not the action and Farrell includes "perform a focus action" in his trigger conditions. However I'm not certain that's correct.

Jakes ability triggers when he either performs a focus action or receives a focus token.

if Jake performs a focus action and Jan converts the focus to an evade, Jake's ability will trigger - regardless of the token he receives, he has still performed a focus action.

If however Jan converts a focus passed from say Kyle or Garven, his ability will not trigger - as he is not receiving a focus token.

I concur. Jake has still performed a Focus action. Jan just changes the token.

Thanks.
