A wing crack - once it touches your lips it's just soooo good.

Am I wrong in thinking you can stack crack shots and potentially use two in the same activation?? This probably isn't THE rebel crack list but I could certainly see two of the 19 point greens.

Boooooo!

But you could give them Calculation for the crits. The critcrackswarm.

Criticrack... Sounds delicious! And addictive...

I'd love to run a list like that if it were possible. I feel like Green Squadron Pilots are waiting for one more great 1-2 point EPT (preferably something to help damage), and then a swarm of five of them will be a lot of fun.

I would love to see an A wing swarm used effectively. To me the A wing feels more like a scalpel than the buckshot tactic of most swarms you see... I think kerbarian is right that the right addition of a new elite pilot talent and we'd be seeing the lists pop up but the question that I have is what kind of EPT would actually make this viable? Also, wouldn't the addition of such an EPT hurt the use of the pilots currently used as swarm aces like howlrunner? Or alternatively make them a little too over the top... I think it would be difficult to get the balance right...

I do recognise that my input as a relatively new player probably isn't going to be all that relevant and naturally I bow to superior experience but is this concern of mine without ground?

You might give this one a try. Etahn runs one side, keeping distance for lonewolf. If you roll hit/hit, or hit/eye, Etahn and calc turns it to crit/crit, with the crackshot to make sure it sticks when it matters. If the enemy guns for Etahn, he has the maneuverability to arc dodge while the A's hammer them harder than most people expect A's to do.

Alternatively, I was looking at a 5 greens with juke instead of calc, but I don't like committing to an evade token instead of a focus, so you might have to actually take blount with a thread tracer or something as the 5th ship.

The simplest thing would be another EPT along the same lines as Crack Shot. e.g. 2 points, discard and take a stress token to add one crit result to your attack. For anyone other than an A-Wing it doesn't change things much because you can only take one or the other.

A buddy of mine runs an A-Wing swarm with Tycho (VI) and 3 Greens. He gives them all Swarm Tactics and P-Rockets to allow the whole group to fire at PS10. I think he's done pretty well with it so far. It pretty much spells instant doom for any large based ship. Much fun.

Wow, I'd never think of that. Does Swarm Tactics really chain that way?

It does, but you need to get that large-based ship in arc still and the Greens still move @ 3, so they can be arc-dodged unless the ship gets blocked.

Wow, this exploded into much more conversation than I thought! Well done everyone! Great ideas to be had by all!

So I tried a little critcrack this week.

Green Squadron x4, all with Calc+Crack+Refit+AWTP+AT, two had Prockets.

I admit, I flew poorly against Superdash and his B-Wing escort. Just did so many stupid things. Got one set of Prockets off on a B-Wing whose shields I'd smashed already, and of 5 dice only rolled 2 hits... that sucked. Otherwise it actually did OK, given how poorly I let the team down. In hindsight, my gameplan should have been to take the B Wings first, procket them into little tiny bits, let the ATs give me evades against Dash's HLC, and then worry about surrounding the annoying git for any remaining Crackshots to be useful.

The big let down, apart from my terrible flying and even worse dice rolls, was the damage output. It's still just not quite enough, especially against tanky things like Bs and YTs.

I have flown 5 gsp with crack and at. I love it but can't decide how strong it is. Have won 2 out of 3 games with it but it is very hard to fly consistently. For me at least.
