Core Expansion

By XTrueFinale, in General Discussion

So I'm just wondering why FFG doesn't make an "expansion" where it contains enough cards for core set owners to top up to having 3 copies of each card?

Surely that would be popular with fans of the game as opposed to the impracticality of having to buy 3 core sets for those who want a complete set of each card

There's only a few cards duplicated in the core set, any cards that duplicated are neutral or economy cards that are required for building multiple decks.

This doesn't need an expansion.

Such an "expansion" is nearly the same as just buying a 2nd and 3rd Core. So, that's why.

That's correct I have 3 cores and I don't feel like I have any waste or uncessary tokens and cards. I just wish the game came with players in the box or solo rules such as Lord of the rings has. What is needed is an expansion to facilitate solo play. I'd buy that as an extra expansion

The only wasted cards are the 6 title cards for multiplayer. It's the best organised LCG core yet :)

I just dunno where to store all this spare gold though!

I'll say the same thing I say every other week when somebody invariably resurrects this topic:

They will never print a product whose sole purpose is to undermine sales of the product line's central item.

Nope. Never going to happen. Especially not for a core set like AGOT, where the supplement would basically be 80% of two additional core sets.

Just buy two more core sets--it's a great return on investment and it has almost no dead cards except for a few plots and melee titles, and it actually gives you multiple playsets of the Roads, Littlefinger, Varys, and Milk of the Poppy, all extremely relevant cards.

You can buy individual house sets on E-bay for 5 and change. So if you only want to focus on a single faction or two just go there to get what your missing.

the problem is people want more copies of the utility cards and the Neutral card packages are much harder to come by on the aftermarket.

Just buy more core sets.
