Agreed. At some point we, the West, needs to wake up and recognize what is going on in the rest of the world and take immediate and decisive action. They do not value the same things we do. Our ways of life are not compatible.

I disagree. In the West we, to varying degrees, believe in democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, gender equality, rule of law, and other assorted progressive values. In other parts of the world these values are not shared and they are violently opposed. And they are trying to bring them here. These two value systems are not compatible.

We are both free to disagree there.

Personally I believe extremism and terrorism are the two biggest destabilizing factors that need addressing, all over the world.
