Anyone emigrated from his native country?

If Donald Trump is elected President, I will seriously consider it.

Cross the ocean towrds Belgium. I am told they have nice beer and chocolate. And there is X-wing too! ;)

Yeah and no natural disasters! Well the occasional heavy storm and some low territories get flooded but that's it. No typhoons, no tornados, no earthquakes (well we had ONE. way back in the 90's... It didn't even do much.) no tsunamis and definatly no jockulhaups ;)

Do you have either baseball or basketball? I can do without American Football, but not both baseball and basketball.

Honestly, my job would not prevent a move like that. I work from home and it matters not one bit where I live so long as I have high-speed internet access.

We got basketball, ofcourse nowhere near the level it is in america.

Base...ball? never heard of it. ;) Yeah that's one of those sports that doesn't really live around here. (It's surprisingly big in Japan tough)

Wait, wait, waaait! That is the sport where you hit the ball with a big stick, yes? ;)

Nope, not really a thing here :P

Basketball, yes. but as Robin Graves said, not at the same level as in the USA, though some US-players play here.

There is a lot of soccer and cycling and sadly not enough rugby :)

I moved from Nebraska to Florida, does that count. It's so different I feel like I'm living in a foreign country

fortunately, belgium has the (some of the) best fried things of .. EVERYTHING, basically.

unfortunately, that leads to no sports at all, naturally.

:D

(still, if you can plan a hike through 12kilometers of nature (a moore / marsh / fen ) and arrange it so that you come by a fritteria AT LEAST 3 times, that's a big plus IMHO ;) )

Also "Steppegras" It's like fries 2.0! :D

I was wondering if I should have added interstate migration. Maybe make it a separate topic? I don´t know too much about the USA, though I can imagine Texas being different from Vermont and Hawaii being different from Alaska. :)

Isn´t the whole beer and fried stuff considered part of the sport? ;)

12 kilometers of hiking and passing at least 3 fritteria´s? Is that a challenge? :D

Now-I-am-hungry :)

Better Trump then Clinton.

To be fair, the US' politicians are all just varying degrees of crap.

Back on topic, I've always wanted to visit Oceania (mainly New Zealand), and I been to Rome and Canada before. Never moved though, still enjoying the beautiful Humidity and Fried Chicken of the deep south. ;)

God you're killing me. Now I am tempted to change my flights next week so I can spend a night in Brussels for beer and steppegras. Followed by waffles of course.

Beer, steppegras, and then waffles. *whistles*

That is one hefty meal!

You only live once....plus I don't get to Belgium that often

Never had Steppegras, but got to have a genuine Belgian waffle when I was study-traveling in Bastogne, and you can't beat that after a brisk walk on a January evening!

As a native Texan, it goes without saying that I'm glad you can recognise that we're different from other states (especially Vermont!). I assume it also goes without saying that we consider ourselves to be very nearly "a whole other country," so one could argue that migrating to or from here would count as inter-country migration. ;)

There is a saying about Belgian food: We combine French quality with German quantity.

I used to have a local plase that did all you can eat BBQ ribs! Good ribs to. And they started you off with 3 racks to begin with. After that I was out. Unless you are from Texas or Memphis or some big-ass lumberjack guy from up north, you don't go back for a re fill. To bad they stopped doing the all you can eat part this year.

*winks, then dives away*

:P

PS. For those who felt offended at once and missed the tongue-in-cheek meaning:

I really had lots of nice food in both Germany and France! :)
