4-LOM Crew

By Crabbok, in X-Wing

I really hope he costs 1 or 2.

Basically because if you run every bounty hunter from ESB, with all their named ships (that is, 4 IG-88s, Bossk w/ Hounds Tooth, Boba in Slave 1, Dengar in Punishing One, and Zuckuss in the Mist Hunter, you've got exactly 2 points remaining. It would be thematic to be able to include 4-LOM for an epic game that has ALL the bounty hunters, and you can only fit it if he costs 2.

If he only costs 1, then you'd also be able to include Greedo somewhere, perhaps with Bossk. Other options MIGHT be to have 4-LOM pilot the Mist Hunter and have Zuckuss crew, but we all know who is the boss over there. I'll be disappointed if 4-LOM costs 3 or more.

Well technicaly you don't need the 3 non B IG-88, as only IG-88 B was in the movie.

There's only one IG88 in ESB, you have plenty of room for 4-LOM, if you want to stay canon.

Greedo I'd stick with Boba, since they are both in ANH.

There's 2. Look closely in the junk room where Chewie finds Threepio.

Sounds like what you're saying is there should still only be one IG-2000 on the board... and maybe a debris field?

That was IG-88B. C & D were destroyed by Boba's Slave 1 while flying their IG-2000 ships.

So, thematically-speaking, a Scum (or Imperial) Boba should be able to solo Bro-Bots?

Boba does not belong into ANH. That scene is horrible, CGI Jabba, killing his mistery, pointless Boba cameo - not nice. Sure it is impressive how they cobbeled together that sequence, but that doesn't make it good.

Screwing up the OT and then making the originals unavailiable certainly was not a nice thing.

Nice opinion. Got any more?

Indeed. George Lucas is history's greatest monster.

You know, there are things that are good about the special editions, like fixing scary face emperor, but it is pointless to be angry about someone being sad about the original versions not being availiable, because they really screwed a lot of things up. You know, putting a fat things ass in front of one of the iconic scenes? I mean really, who the thought that was a good idea?

Yeah. I read somewhere that it was when he learned about George Lucas birth that Hitler finally decided to end his life.... he simply could not take it that somewhere, there was someone worst than him....

Honestly, I like that scene and I think putting it back together is one of the better things the Special Editions did right.

My dream would be a fully customizable version of each film. Basically some checkboxes like:

[x]CGI Dewbacks

[x]Han Shoots First

[ ]Greedo Shoots First

[ ]Simultaneous Fire

[x]Special Edition Death Star Explosion

[x]Sarlaac Beak

[ ]Max Rebo Band

[ ]Ewok Eyelids

And so forth. Then everyone can have the Star Wars experience they prefer, even if they're silly silly people who hate Dewbacks.

Han stepped on Jabba's tail.

I mean: there's Jabba saying "I'm gonna kill you soon", and Han steps on his tail. Then Jabba's eyes bug out. Then Han calls Jabba a "Human being".

And then Han is not killed for insolence.

That's not Han being awesome. That's Jabba being weak.

If that were to happen I would cry in joy!

On the Boba/Jabba scene, yes on its own it is okay and definitly not among the worst things in the mess that were the special editions, but I "hate" how it spoils Jabba and shows him out of character. In episode 4 and 5 he used to be an unknown entity, this misterious crimelord that everyone heard about and who pulls the strings throughout the galaxy, but we didn't get to see - in episode 6 he then is everything we could have dreamed up and his reveal is a big deal because of that. He is this fat slug that doesn't even need to move anymore, because he is so powerfull that he has an entire palace to serve him. Him leaving his throne to slide around in the desert sun to threaten Han doesn't make much sense, the henchmen being send makes a lot more sense.

But that is of course a point that loses relevance when you already know the movies from memory. It is the existence of this scene that disappoints me, not the scene itself.

Also (can't edit this in because I am a noob at quoting and only use the button, sorry for the double post) I first wasn't sure if I should respond to the tone of this post, but I think I know how I should:

"My name is Adrmiral Deathrain and I hate when people try to do nice things for me."

That was a bit unneccessarily rude, wasn't it? I am sure you don't want to come of like that, but man, go a bit easier on the agression.

That.

Did.

Not.

Happen.

Really a bigger crime was editing a dead actor out of RotJ and removing him from the credits. Re-dubbing Fett was also pretty insulting, but not a huge deal (was that Fett voice actor the same one that played him in the Holiday Special?).

"Yeah kids, your granddad played Darth Vader in the last of the original Star Wars movies. No, he got replaced by that emo hillbilly and he may as well never have existed, but it's something cool that he did."

Since this 4LOM thread has turned into "Gripes about the Special Edition Edits" thread, I'm going to give you one of mine:

Return of the Jedi - Jabba says "Play that one again" - and the band goes into that absurd musical number....

Except that WASN'T the song they were playing. They were playing a quiet slow jam, and they bust out into an Upbeat, Fast Paces Loud song!?!?! It's like you are listening to Enya, ask the band to re-play Enya, and instead they start playing Uptown Funk. Every single one of those insubordinate music peddlers ought to have been fed to the rancor.

Every single one of those music peddlers ought to have been fed to the rancor, but not for being insubordinate, just for being awful. Oh man I don't have words for how bad that song is. *cringes just thinking about it*

Well 4-LOM card, hope it is cool with Tractor beams so Zuckuss and 4-LOM on the Mist Hunter is a good build!

This was possibly the worst and most disrespectful thing Lucas did.

The Han thing notwithstanding.

Hopefully 4-lom will have the kleptomania.

Stealing tokens, using enemy tokens against thems.

With more and more aces relying on abundance of free tokens he could be a great asset if he could do anything like that.
