Just how sexy is that Black and Orange X-Wing?

This isn't lego, surely.

How old are you guys now? 15?

Bionicle was indeed a Lego product.

They were pretty neat.

Most Lego was and is not from a licensed theme.

Do not like. Color scheme selected, apparently, by a six year old.

So what colors would you choose? I think it is a really nice change from the overly used gray with red lines scheme.

Beige and teal with orange accents.

Personal favorite.

I love Star Wars. Black X-Wings are the best. I might even repaint my wife's ships.

Budgernaut...

Teach me the ways of the Force! I want to fight the Empire!

All you have to do is copy any image which ends with a file type, like PNG say of JPG. Paste the web address using the image tag option when you write your post.

There are a few curmudgeons here who hate the NEW STAR WARS... don't let them get to you.

Go PO-Po!

:D

Black and orange (or yellow) is a excellent colour scheme.

Also, can't be chosen by a six year old, as the recommended age is 7-12. :P

"All hail Blacktron!"

Sadly that stuff came up when I was about to leave Lego. Ah, well, those were the days...!

Back in the days when Lego had an imagination of its own. Now they just do nothing but make corporate studio licensed products.

Agreed. And the engineering/design isn't what it used to be. So often it seems like the designers were more focused on using up a quota for a given brick type. Some of those late 80s and early 90s sets were just....elegant, in terms of design.

At least we have X-Wing minis, eh?

Completely disagree. Yes, Lego uses custom parts a lot more but c'mon, assemble an X-Wing or AT-AT and you'll see that the engineering has come a long way. I had this kit and many like it back in the day. Flat panel, add wings, stick a cockpit and 'weapon things' on it, add some little pegs to detach something snd WHALLAH!

Nowadays we are seeing more integration of the technics range into standard kits and are no longer limited by building on the 2 planes. The AT-AT for example has panels attached at a range of angles.

We have our opinions though I respect yours. I loved this range as a youngster but am blown away by the engineering of today's kits.

To be fair, I'm not sold on the black and orange X-Wing. Not because of the colors chosen, but because I fear that it is unique to the character.

If it's the entire squadron that is black and orange, painted like this for a particuliar mission or whatever, I'm gonna be okay with it. But if it's just to make Poe more unique, to differenciate him from the rest of the squadron, I won't like it. I prefer when the whole squadron share the same paint job with slight modification, like in ANH or RotJ.

From what I read at the end of the new Leia book, Moving Target:

Poe seems to be a bit conceited and the Resistance leaders are concerned for him. I think it totally fits his cocky character to have a unique ship different from the rest of the squadron. And given that every toy with an orange and black X-wing calls it "Poe's X-wing," while all the other T-70 X-wings are blue and white, I'm quite confident it's just Poe's X-wing and not the whole squadron.

All about Tahu with that flame sword, bro.

Do not like. Color scheme selected, apparently, by a six year old.

So, you're saying a 6 year old picked the team colors for the San Francisco Giants? And, as a fan of those same Giants, I heartily approve of my team's colors being represented in the new Star Wars film.

Could not agree more. Glad to see a fellow Giants fan on here.

When I run Poe I always make sure to replace the pew pew noises with poe poes.

Like...

POE POE POE!

Now roll them greenies Imps! Mwuhahahaha!

Nah, man. POE-hatu all the way! Get it? Pohatu --> POE-hatu .... Um, nevermind.

But he really was my favorite with Kanohi Kakama.

You could double that number and you'd still be too low. :) I do remember getting all the Bionicle figures in high school. I even went to LEGO Land to pick some of them up. Good times. But I sold them all to pay for X-Wing.

That's a great find. My brother and I definitely had a couple of these guys too. They came with their own sweet storage box with the ammo rack inside. Good memories for sure.

Yeah, I had that one and the purple one.

All that said, I am contemplating buying the Micro Machine Poe-mobile to use with X-wing (because I love the mini's paint job waaaay too much to change it, even if it did look even better as a bright white and blue render).

Actually, the colour scheme reminds me of the fabled "Black Spathi Squadron"...

I clicked on here expecting something about a black and orange X-wing. Instead I find deep and meaningful musings on LEGO?!?

Kind of...

My brother and I had all 6 of the first wave. Remember how they combined together to form big robots?

In 9th grade we had to write our own mythologies. My brother and I based our project on the Throwbots. They were god-protectors of this island where machines were the sentient beings. They had to go on quests to collect all their disks to gain even greater power. Sound familiar? There were a lot of similarities with Bionicle, and this was before Bionicle was even announced! That's part of the reason my twin and I got so excited for Bionicle when it came out.

I like the Black and Orange. Calling someone a kid for coming up with it.....is AWESOME!!! We are ALL KIDS when playing this game. Makes me feel young.

I'm not a big fan. Love the black, but I'm not big on orange anyway, let alone combined with black. It's a color combination I associate with Halloween. So, I see it, and I wonder when the Star Wars galaxy got Halloween as a holiday.

I dunno how to Internet's so no pics or links. But take a look at the pic in the thread titled Dengar Box Art Released. There is a pic in there of Poe standing in front of a drop dead gorgeous X-Wing painted in carbon black and pale orange.

And it is the very definition of sexy. So there.
