The World Championship has shown us (again) the merits of the 48 pts Corran with FCS + R2D2 + EU + PtL. FCS helps a lot to have a devastating double tap.

On the other hand AdvS makes Corran much harder to catch. Although he is not as susceptible as the Baron, Corran usually dies when he is blocked and AdvS really helps a lot for allowing him a grand escape. Also a 2 action plus green move gives great action economy as well.

What is your take do you think the 49 pts Corran is overlooked a bit? Will he have his time under the spotlight one day?

There was a 49-point Corran in the cut as well. They are both effective, but sensors is more about refusing to die. Fcs is about just blowing up ships in every pass.

I flew 49-point Corran in the wave 6 meta, but I think 48 is just as good now.

Our local Regional champion flies the Advanced Sensor Corran, and it's extremely good. Honestly, I don't reeeeally fear FCS Corran when I come up against him. I mean, FCS Corran does do a ton of damage, but AS Corran just does NOT die, he is more flexible in his maneuvering (With PtL), and he sticks around longer to pull off more double-taps. Plus, that jerk can't truly be blocked, and I do love blocking. FCS Corran can be (more) easily killed, but AS Corran just sticks around until the end and locks up a ton of points just like fat large ships.

If you get into a one-on-one or you expect to, then Advanced Sensor Corran is infinitely superior (as he has access to turns and the K-turn if necessary). FCS Corran is great but has a massive weakness if your opponent gets behind you it is difficult to bring him to bear and get shots on target again (the curse of the green 2-bank).

I played 48 Corran with 4 Talas at the NZ Nationals and did ok, but I got caught out a couple of times (notably by Dash) where I couldn't get shots, or get away.

Now I am considering 49 Corran with 3 Prototypes with Autothrusters instead. They don't shoot before the TLTs but are better blockers and can survive a TLT onslaught better than Talas do.

Though I am vaguely tempted to try out 47 Corran with PtL, BB-8, Sensor Jammer, Stealth Device just for fun.

I played both and liked FCS more, but it is just matter of taste.

49-point + 3 prototypes was really good in the wave 6 meta. I haven't tried it since then, but it should do alright. You just can't swarm a Decimator to death as often anymore.
