Vader or Fel?

By Zanos, in X-Wing

Hey guys, I have a tournament coming up tomorrow and I've been having a blast with accuracy corrector TIE advanceds. I've been running vader with them, but I was wondering if fel would be a better choice thanks to how he's usually tanker.

neither

Carnor Jax

All 3.

How do you put Fel in an Acc Corrector Advanced?

it really depends on your meta. if stress is big in your meta pick something else altogether as both of those pilots really hate stress

Jax is a really useful option but a little more vulnerable and skill based, while fel is far more ready for anything. Only problem with fel nowadays is the awareness of his awesomeness lol, and for that people are ready for him. Vader so powerful offensively with atc, but if he gets caught he will die, no thrusters or stealth device.

So I guess my final advice is this, if you want the all around best and most safe, go fel, if you want to counter the meta a bit more, take vader or jax, but remember they are less forgiving and a bit harder to fly

Fel's wrath

I think Vader will be great when they issue some new amazing system upgrade. Vader was underwhelming at Worlds, he´s vulnerable to turrets without autothrusters, the dial is not great and he needs to spend an action to target lock to basically become a 3 attack ship against that particular target. At the end of the day imperial players need to look for answers. Regenerating rebel aces and twin laser turrets (with stressbot involved) will probably be the thing following Worlds. Both are hard on Vader and Fel. Maybe swarms will make a comeback.

Vader is awesome.

He's just not as awesome against turrets.

Hiya, TLT!

I played a Soontir + 3 Tempest with AC last week. It's a fearsome list.

I flew four Dagger Bs, 2 with fire control. Only took one Tempest down and had one on 1 hull point. AC was used in the majority of fire.

not sure if it's really TLT

Vader gets mulched by them, sure enough, but a Worlds caliber player should know how to control ranges with a double action, boost + roll ship

if I had to guess, it's actually action dependency. Vader's really got nothing without his ability, and ATC has no way of being applied without actions.

Fel's the same, but he's slightly less screwed thanks to thruster and his ability on the turn he gets stressed. The turn after, though, he's ****** :P

the triple K tacticians and Heaver's R3-a2, god of stress, BTL-a4 seem to capitalize on this vulnerability more than TLTs

ACs are freaking legit

action-independent, guaranteed offense that just rips through low agility targets

they make an interesting counter-point to vader; they're almost complete opposites despite being the same ship

I think both probably work well. I'd fly whichever you are more cofortable with.

Very much so. Both aces are highly action-dependent; both are absurdly agile; Vader can handle one unplanned stress better than soontir can; soontir weathers turret fire better while Vader is optimally chasing a single big fat target.

In a sense, Soontir is better at 'defeat an entire list singlehandedly' if the matchup favors him, while Vader is a bulldog able to cripple enemy forces.

Both adore having AC Tempests as an escort; I suspect Vader likes it even more because it burns down the low-agility targets he wants to see dead.

Ooh, and maybe a Shuttle for escort!

... wait, I think we've seen this list.

:P

Vader. No. Fel. No Vader. ???

Whisper, with VI and Advanced Cloaking Device.

Fel /w PTL, AT, RGP Title and SD.

Leaves you at 98pts, which Fel wants.
