So in the Clone Wars series we see heroes and villains using various jetpacks and jet boots. Also the astromechs seem to have jets in their legs that allow them to fly. So, where are they in the books? I've got more than a few of the books and have yet to see them in any of the equipment or vehicles. So, to quote Tim Wilson, "Where the .... is my jetpack?"
Where the .... is my Jetpack?
Edge of the Empire core page 181.
The downside of a multi-core unified system... some of the fun toys aren't in the book you bought...
Or were deliberately left out due to difficult and contradictory rules.
It's possible that we might see alternative jetpacks in the Soldier career book.
I figure it was in the EotE core rulebook because of Boba Fett, the iconic bounty hunter of the franchise. For the Alliance, they don't really have an "iconic hero" that's identified with jet packs.
Sure, the Clone Troopers may have used them, but that's Clone Wars and those troopers eventually became stormtroopers, the main flunkies of the Empire that as Rebels you're trying to fight. And even then, there's not a lot of jet-pack using stormtroopers.
Plus, the rules regarding jet packs are a little odd as CaptainRaspberry noted.
Thank you, I shall see if the collective can put together enough credits to get the Edge of the Empire Core rule book.
The boots appear in Strongholds of Resistance.
What skill do they use?
