300 rebel list Please tweek

By Matt2429, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So I am having issues with my list and have been continuously tweeking it ever so slightly to try and stay with the main concept of squadron heavy. List is:

AF B

flight controllers

weapons liaison

X17

Garm Bel Iblis

AF B

flight controllers

weapons liaison

X17

3 X wings

6 Y wings

I have tried several different tweeks such as 8 y wings and skywalker with dodonna, tried 9 A wings. tried several different fits on the AFs and am still not fairing very well so its time to turn to the internet for advice. Part of my issues have been extremely below average dice rolls but I am still looking to optimize my list.

I think defense liaison makes more sense than weapons liaison; Squadron commands will basically always be more efficient than concentrate fire commands, so you can just dial in squadron commands and change to navigate or engineering as needed.

Other changes;

I'd go 4 A-wings, 5 Y-wings (or 5 A-wings, 4 Y-wings); The wave 1 metagame favors A-wings over x-wings because of their more dependable battery armament, and Counter mostly makes up for the lost anti-squadron die. You do lose a hull point, but being speed 5 allows you to be much more proactive in keeping enemy ships away from your y-wings. Wave 2 will shake things up. That leaves 6-7 points. You could leave that as an innitiative bid, or add expanded hangars, the Paragon title, or a defensive retrofit.

Paragon might be worth it for that one or two times you manage to line it up. Just dial in concentrate fire before you line up and you get 2 black die!

Have you tried 4 A's/4 B's? That's my setup and I like it pretty well, but I know B-Wings aren't for everybody: they have a pretty significant impact on how you fly your fleet. But that combo gives you good flexibility, especially with Flight Controllers to turbo up the anti-squadron armament if you need it. Both hit hard against both ships and fighters; you have the speed of the A-wing for pursuit and flexible deployments; and you have the ridiculously efficient anti-ship armament of the B-Wing to make it count. All 8 fighters bring 4 anti-squadron dice to the table when commanded, which you want to be doing during squadron-on-squadron dogfighting anyway.
